I need something with modern braking compatibility. My current trailer is 1985 vintage, with tube steel….Hensley Trailers.

Who do I call to buy a new one? 36 years later?

Shadow would probably be your best bet if you’re looking simple, and clean. Adrenaline if you’re looking for the Ferrari of trailers.

Why not new axles under current trailer with modern braking components?

thats my question. not sure of your area, but the guys below did the same thing for me last year. axle swap with electric brakes on a home built trailer. want to say they charged me right about a grand and did it in a day.

You can upgrade the axles and brakes for a lot less than a new trailer. Splurge for some new paint, and be pretty far ahead.

The trailer is 36 years old. Tubing has rust inside. Exfoliating in spots.

I’d like to put a new trailer under the boat, with all the new braking and backup systems.

You could also try Pacific trailers in Chino. I had one on my old boat.

Depends where you are....If I was in your shoes I would look hard at aluminum options. I had to replace a rusted out trailer on our last ski boat...Bought a "semi-custom" aluminum for like $7500 3 years ago..probably went up since then but something to research into.
