So, if you monkeys been looking to upgrade your cans light in la casa....nows a good time to do it. Their 2 pack replacement bulbs are 5 bucks off.....only 10 dollas for a 2 pack....usually much more @ HD or Lowes. Nice lil upgrade. 9 watts...the bezels look cleaner than the old skool ones. I had LED bulbs already, but just swapped out for a cleaner look and less wattage. You're welcome....๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™ve been using those for almost 2 years now retrofit and all my rentals you canโ€™t beat the deal theyโ€™re excellent

You can't beat the price for sure..I've used a lot of Costco lighting in projects over the years

I have those in our house and they are great. There are a couple that had slow lighting. I bought few extra to swap out and returned them. Also have a few extra in case some go bad.

Replaced 64 of them in our house we bought last year. 12 packs on Amazon are even less per unit than the Costco deal.

I tried looking on Amazon. I am not a fan of Costco but would need 22 but I couldn't find anything close to $5 a unit.

I know nothing about LED lights, but as I've gotten older I need/like a brighter more white light. I can't stand the ones that have a yellow tint to them. I want to try some, but is 2700K what I want? Do they make them in a brighter white?

Sunco Lighting 12 Pack 5/6 Inch LED Recessed Downlight, Baffle Trim, Dimmable, 13W=75W, 4000K Cool White, 965 LM, Damp Rated, Simple Retrofit Installation - UL + Energy Star https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073X698W...abc_WF6FAE2GAJY2DSMMPQ3J?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

My wife would pack up and leave if I put 4,000K in her house, she prefers the 2,700 K but is fine up to 3,000K. The Sunco with a CRI (Color rendering Index) of only 80 vs 90 for the Costco, is one reason they're less expensive.
I've got 5,000K in my garage and shop where the cold white is appreciated.

You might prefer 3,000 to 3,500 K, if you find 2,700K to yellow or warm appearing. Also you want to pay attention to the CRI for inside your home, the Costco ones with a CRI of 90 is a good spec and will render colors more accurately than will the CRI of 80 with the Amazon Sunco. In the garage and shop, 5,000K and a CRI of 80 is fine -- unless you're matching paint colors.

The problem many women have with the cooler colors above let's say 3,500 K is the Kelvin temperature you go (Higher number) the more unflattering to your skin tone. They can make your skin appear reddish, and tends to make your blood vessels really " Pop ".

I have these costco ones in my house for a few years now, they are amazing, bright white light as you would want especially if eye sight is aging a bit...

I have cases of these on hand. The round flat lights are great as well. Currently 15 but they go on sale for 10 each. The USB outlets are currently on sale as well. Moen faucets and tp-towel bar kits I have stocked up as well from when they were 15 off. They also have the Toto bidets on stock and shower doors.

Mine wouldn't even let me think about putting in a 4k light either. Me I personally like the 2700 in the house. And like you the 5k in the garage.
Looks like i might need spend a $100 and call it good

I used different color temp for different areas of the house. Some of the lights available now you can tune the color to your liking.
I already had LED bulbs....I just switched out to the replacements. We all can't ball like you big guy. ๐Ÿ˜
I went through 3 stages๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜–. First were the focking cfl's, then LED bulbs then the replacement type like the ones you got for the cans.

When I checked......didn't see anything near that. And that was before the sale price.
I've done a few houses with the Feit 8-packs. Cheaper than most supply house prices. Not cheaper than what we just did at the river though..... @rvrrat350 game thru with some Wuhan specials for like $3 a trim! Which was awesome cause we replaced like 100 cans lol

So can't you just put the 2700K units in the bathroom, and maybe the bedroom area so she doesn't look like the bride of frakenstein where she'd be more likely undressed and put the 4K's throughout the rest of the house?

Keep in mind, cooler/bluer lights can affect sleep.

So you may want to consider something as warm as you can handle for the bedroom or reading lights.

One problem that can arise from mixing colors is when you can see both lights. You tend not to notice the yellow of the warmer colors, when they all match. If you place 4,000K (Which is very white, just not bluish white) and 2,700 K together, now you really notice the difference. But yes, as an example in our laundry room, I've got 3,500 K, as well as where my computer is and in our pantry. Personally, I wouldn't go colder that 3,500 K for indoor living space.
Try it is all I can suggest, maybe purchase just a couple and see how they feel for you and yours. I've got a whole shelf with 3,500K I pulled out of the baths and kitchens on orders from management and replaced them with 2,700K. ๐Ÿ˜

Ecosmart from HD are 4 for $25. Best price in the 4" I could find same price in 6". I have some I got for $3 have to look tomorrow in my stock pile. They are not as many lumens as Costco but best bang for your buck on a flip.

I just just put up 6 of these exact lights. I couldn't figure out why 4 of them would dimly glow when shut off at the dimmer so I went and bought different dimmers thinking some kind of feedback through the switch.. Nope, went & bought another style that I thought for sure would solve it. Nope, still glowing, but why?

I Googled it & saw it could be the quality of light bulbs. Turns out the 4 that I bought from Costco a year or two ago were the culprit. I replaced the exact lights from Home Depot & they all shut off now. Weird one.

Cheap ones usually do this. There is a resistor Lutron sells for their dimmers that solves the problem. Also a Lutron Diva dimmer will usually fix the issue as it cuts power to the fixture.

A Lutron Maestro dimmer for instance never truly cuts the voltage so you can get super dim lights in the off position. The resistor fixes this.

Btw most of the mid range to higher end trims are color selectable now. 2700k through 5000k just flip a switch on the trim.

I have installed a bunch of the color selectable (3k, 4k & 5k) ones over the last year. No can needed and easy to install.

I was gonna post about this today.....I have some that do this too. I was thinking maybe it was gonna be a dimmer issue.....but I have switched ones that do it too. And it's not all of them. They don't stay dim...they'll shut off eventually
