Livorsi Marine caused a lot of QR excitement at its booth during the 2023 Miami Boat Show but you didn’t need a smart phone to scan a code. Nope! The only prerequisite was that… you needed to own a boat in order to install its latest and greatest QR Quick Release products. On display were the Quick Release (QR) Fender Cleats and Quick Release (QR) Dock/Boat Ladder.
The Quick Release (QR) cleats can be placed anywhere along the boat where you attach your fenders and can be installed in just one “quick” click. Not only are they electropolished for corrosion resistance, they also have soft tips so as to not scratch the gel coat surfaces. Most impressive is that after thorough testing practices, the cleats can sustain up to 1,500 lbs of pull out force.
On the opposite side of the center display table, Mike Livorsi was happy to also show us the flush-mounted Quick Release (QR) dock or boat ladder. It requires no engineering and the ladder can be installed for the bow or stern, the side door, or at the dock. Made from 304 stainless steel, the ladder holds up well in salty conditions, is available in 3- or 4-steps, and extends to 46 inches. Optional QR ladder features include a grab handle to aid in boarding if you have heavy scuba gear, a standoff from the boat hull, and a mounting bracket for vertical or horizontal stowing.
Initially I passed by the booth to check out the QR goodies but I couldn’t help noticing the new dashboard phone holders. Giving it a shot with my own phone, it kept my little outdated iPhone 8 tightly secure and locked in place, so much so, that I needed two hands to release it from the four rubber grips.
Not only was the phone holder discovery an attention-getter, seeing legendary offshore boat racer and owner of TNT Marine John Tomlinson pass by the booth at the same, was as paramount as the new products I was scoping out.
