Well my trucks been in the body shop for 3 weeks getting all cleaned up after I smacked the doors. 16k if anyone wanted to guess on damages.

Been driving a F250 CC 6.7 4x4 with the 10 speed. Damn…. This has me wanting to just list my 2016 with 190k Cummins.

Got an honest 20mpg to mammoth and have been getting 17-18 mpg canyon driving between Malibu and the valley.

Anyone hating their current fords?

The sticker has me a little horrified, but if I can get what I want for my truck it seems like a no brainer. If I were to make the jump it’ll be a CC 4x4 F350 LB. At this point the king ranch seems worth the up charge considering what dealerships want for lariats. I drive 30-35k miles a year and I’m tired of being uncomfortable

I have a 2005 duramax and after driving friends f450 10 speed I hated my truck.

However, the duramax been reliable and works fine. Can’t be keeping up with the jones. Have other toys that needs to be addressed. 🤣

I wish I kept my 04. But I put 2 sets of injectors in it and a transfer case. After 10k I was pissed.

It’s a work truck/office so I just want something that it comfortable and gets the job done.

Yea if you drive everyday it’s fine getting something nice for yourself. I’m always loading tubes and metal so my ocd would go nuts on a new truck.

Flew to SLC in June 2021 to pick up a brand new 2021 F350 Lariat 4x4 CCLB with the black package. Broke it in for about 1700 miles. Then took it on a 3700 mile road trip with a Laveycraft NuEra 29 in tow. Got 14.1 MPG over the whole trip.

It rides amazing. I have about 19k on it now. Did it cost too much? Yes. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. Amazing vehicle with a luxury interior.

Now if I could only come up with a random $10k for a Carli level and wheels/tires 😁

Also... this color is by far my favorite color on any vehicle I've ever owned.

Love my new truck. I see what all the guys complaining about the 10 speeds are talking about though.

This transmission hates California stops. It’s gets weird where it doesn’t know if it wants to shift down or stay in the gear it’s at. If you don’t come to a complete stop it will be in 2nd or 3rd when you try to go.

If you come to a complete stop it’s perfect.

Also slow speeds in parking lots messes with it it will jump between 2 and 3 depending on throttle.

Put it in sport and all problems disappear. Or just be mindful.

Other than that I love this gas guzzling son of bitch.

Oh and let the transmission warm a minute. If f you jump in it cold and drop it in gear hold on lol.

Are you going to swap the bed over from the RAM? If yes, make sure the cab to axle length matches.

Lol great description. My Ram 8 speed does the same shit and it has the turbo, so sometimes it does know where it wants to be and then when it figures it in
Out the turbo kicks in and you went from grandpa mode the peeling out.

This past 18 months I could have operated out of a weather guard tool box.

The larger projects allow me time to grab equipment, tools. material and leave them on the job.

Just seems senseless to DD what I am. And 2 trucks seems excessive as well

Trying to remember where things are in the tool box is my biggest gripe. When switching from 1 truck to another. And keeping track of tools. Decided to paint each tool in each truck a certain color. I couldn't find a grinder today between 3 trucks. Drove me nuts. Drive to the other property and 3 in 1 truck and 2 on jobs. Problem is 1 truck can't do it all for me. But 4 is excessive some times.

I have a 2022 Ford F350 CCLB Platinum and absolutely love it. Payload is 4K and it ties like a dream. Well worth it, interior is very nice and they are coming with a new update so the 12” is not split anymore.

Since you don’t really need to carry tools and stuff in your dd truck, have you thought about a fast car? AWD 4 door or even a long roof car like an Audi A5 Quattro?

My new daily is the best truck I have Ever driven.
I thought my gen 2 was bad ass. Gen 3 is a game changer. The MPG is 👎 though avg 13mpg.

3.5l eco boost with 10 speed.

My tow vehicle actually gets better mileage. 16 ish MPG. But is a bitch to park.

Even my personal truck has a weatherguard. It's like you always need something. Drove the Tundra today to meet the realtor at that Pedro job you did the main panel on. Thinking I just needed a tape measure and pencil. Needed a screwdriver. The tundra weatherguard is sitting at other property as I park it on the street and leave nothing in it. Just use it to pick up materials with the 8' bed. The 5th truck.

I still need to move 15k lb trailers and pick up heavy material routinely. Which I can keep the current set of wheel and just redo the interior and upgrade the suspension.

But it still has 190k miles

Makes sense. I misunderstood. Thought you had two trucks. My cousin has a a nearly new Ram. Nice inside. Cummins. Rides ok for a 3500 dually. Good luck with your search

I will add that the exhaust brake on my 2016 Cummins is night and day against the Ford. I imagine it’s because of the piston size between the 2 motors?

Ram puts me against my seatbelt even with the service body.

Ford accelerates like a bat out of hell. To the point that I think it could out run most sedans.

I’m comparing a Ram 3500 with an Aisin vs a F250 with a 10 speed. Both 4x4 but no idea on gear ratio.

As far as hill climbs/canyons I routinely drive Las Flores, Stunt, Kanan and Topanga canyon. The first 2 are decent climbs. The Ford 10 speed definitely hunts for gears. If you pick gears (technically downshift/pick lower gears) it drives much better.

On the flip side the Cummins with the Aisin handles great but gets terrible mileage.

Look at a F450, the turning radius is much better.

I’ve heard the ride on a F450 is horrible. Friend bought one and sold it a few months later. Seems like it’s only needed If you’re towing heavy all the time. Otherwise a 250/350 gets the job done with a better ride for a DD. 🤷‍♂️

I don’t know about the new ones. But my 08’ lariet f450 was smother riding than my 12’ CC king ranch f350. My 17’ CC F-350 plat is pretty smooth.

But my truck is a DD, so if you are coming from a SUV/car to a truck nothing is going to smooth.

I believe they allow you to "afford these" over 7ish years now 😳

Yeah, I am super surprised by the acceleration on an 8k lbs truck

Unloaded highway I can get up in the 16.5-18.5 depend on temps and altitude.

With two snowmobiles on the deck I got just under 15 average over 2600 miles

X flight behind is in the 13-15 range.

My 24+4 Vnose at just shy of 10k plus the bed and cab loaded was 11.5 over a 1300 mile run.

Worst I’ve ever got was like 9.5 pulling around 10k in gnarly wind…..my 2020 with the aisin is a beast…I’m right at 48k miles of seat time and am still glad i bought it.
