so i have totes n totes full of hot wheels, johnny lighting the muscle cars n diorama collection sets. plus more..
when I say alot in mean in the thousands..
he is a some stuff in my fish tank office room.. I would take apart and paint them..

Spent many hours walking the factory floor where we made those die cast cars, Penang, Malaysia and Bangkok, Thailand. Our design center in El Segundo was always a blast through which to walk. A giant, football field-sized Santa’s workshop. Best job ever!

I worked for Mattel in the original Hawthorne building, down in the basement back in the late 80's correcting Injection Mold Tooling designs so they could be sent to Malaysia and Hong Kong.

They introduced me to a new program that intergraded with their mainframe design software "Cadam" and we bought "Micro Cadam" and took the work off site with our family molding company. I drew on that box for years and it was an expensive computer at the birth of faster PC's.

My dad worked for Mattel for several years...the birth of Injection Molds and the like. As a kid I had tons of partial pre-production toys and still have maybe a 100 hot wheels that were all pre-production (no date on the bottom).

My painter has like 6 or 8,000 cars new in the box. Been collecting for 35 plus years.
