Along with my Wife’s 5 meat chili…eatin right for sure.
After about 20 years of hard use and no soap, I finally said fuck it and washed my CI pan with dawn. Dried it. Coated with oil.
You won't believe the results. It cooked just like it cooked before.
Ok man. With you on the cornbread!

I have the same one!I bought this dude a few weeks ago. It turns out it's VERY useful!
Heating multiple corn tortillas all at once. Making grilled cheese sammaches with the cool grill marks across em. And kinna other hot sandwiches.
It's been a good investment for the stove top.

We don’t have a black stone or griddle but this works fine. Stove or BBQ
Mine is very similar. I took an orbital sander with 60 or 80 grid sand paper, and sanded mine to “very smooth”…I bought this dude a few weeks ago. It turns out it's VERY useful!

Its not perfectly smooth, but very smooth…
Then I re seasoned it with Alvacado oil, and grape seed oil…. light coats at 450 in oven for one hour.
The Stargazer skillets I own… shit they are smooth as a babys bottom out of the box. No need to sand, just use them and season them as needed.
What do you feel like difference is from the smooth surface to the rough one?
You like it smooth, or rough?
That sounded kinna funny didn't it.
When I bought my first stargazer cast iron skillet 10”, they come from the factory machined perfectly smooth and flat….
I bought my first one when they where first introduced, and I pre ordered it and got a smoking deal on it.
When I started using it… nothing stuck at all.. unless it had sugar in it…
A few years later they released the 12” skillet, again, the cooking surface is machined and perfectly smooth… It works just as good as the 10”…
So in my camping gear… I had a Lodge flat griddle that you guys see in the pictures. Had that thing for ever, But rarely used it. Cause shit stuck… It was a bitch to clean, because it was so pourous… food would get stuck in the holes of it…
Finally, I came to the conclusion. This fucker is either going to keep collecting dust, or I need to fix it so I can use it… And I did…
I have a Dewalt 6” orbital sander… and I went to town on that fucker… And I re seasoned it. Before it looked like yours.
Today it looks like this. There are still some indentions in it from the pourous metal… But its very smooth. Not like the stargazer.. but I cook eggs on this all the time, using the “silicon rings” … see some of the pictures in my other posts.

Well thats an easy one…Got it. Thanks.
I use Flaxseed oil most every time...
Wash, wipe with oil and then heat on the stove top till it stops smoking.
I've never had a problem with anything sticking.
Been using spray canola oil on the griddle side. No issues there either. So far?
Gonna make some grilled cheese right now. I'll report back in a bit.
Well thats an easy one…
Fried eggs…thats when you know your skillet is truly seasoned, good to go and non stick.
Wife just went to town to get the stuff for her upside down CI pizza for dinner tonight
Oh my...
What kinna cheese did you use??
Mozzarella and Pepper Jack
Did you use any sauce under the meat?
Not on this one just cooked taco meat, refried beans and veggies topped with tomatoes; sour cream and salsa
You inspired me...
Seasoned taco meat, green onions, tomatoes, white beans, black olives and a ton of fresh jalapeno.
Used spicy nacho cheese for the base sauce.
Bland!!! So??
Cholula and sour cream to the rescue.
