You ever wonder where yours went?
I get to see mine quote often. She still looks great and is a regular on the strip.
The current owner has taken great care of it. This was today at Foxes.

Will have to find other pics. As far as I know, it’s cut to pieces. My grandparents bought this one right off the cover and I sold it back around 06. New buyer only wanted it for the motor and said he’d be chopping it up.

My ex brother in law has mine. Saw it two years ago on Havasu, my youngest son had it out. Bought new in 1984 at boat show on Irvine Lake. SunRay Cobra. Kind of like a Tahiti 17. 140 OMC Stringer. Still looks decent.

My second I’ve never seen her again. Seems odd as I’ve looked all over google images and all she vanished.

When I sold mine I had stripped it. The buyer brought a trailer from San Diego and I had plugged the transom holes with duct tape and floated it off the trailer in the harbor and he put onto his trailer. He had hopes of switching it to an outboard. Last I saw it, it was on Craigslist and looked like it had been sitting in a storage yard for a year. Pretty sad.

First boat was a blast. Yes it was a Cheetah but my experience with Cheetah Bob and his guys was great. No bullshit and always backed up any issues I had with no questions. Get first boat. Scorpion with the 377 and B1. Ran in the 50’s and never left me stranded.

I bought the Southwind back when I was twenty, over thirty-one years ago. And yes, I still have her. I have done a lot of upgrades throughout the years and like most boat owners, I will never get it back monetarily. But it's been fun and I have created a lot of great memories. She has been from Lake Mead down to the Lower River and every place in between. The Southwind has had a couple different looks over the years, I have ran both an air gap single carb and a tunnel ram dual carb deal. She is currently getting full-stringers, racing buckets and re-rigged. All the previous work was done at Pat's Fiberglass and Tom Papp Racing. Lew Larson built the 468 Chevy. Chris at B 1 Racing did the most recent pump work. The most recent goal was to have Bostick Racing Engines build me one of his Blue Collar 650 HP engines with a 100 to 200 HP shot of Nitrous. However, that goal has been put on hold since my accident.

Mine went to the burn pile. First boat was a 8ft, three point hydro. I built it in the back yard with the help of friends and family. We watched every once of weight that went into it. Even removed the screws after the glue dried. It had a new Merc 7.5 short shaft on it that was striped of ever part that wasn't needed and my uncle cut the prop by hand in his shop. That thing would fly and I never let off the throttle. I won a few races but spent most of my time on the outside of the turns. That throttle thing got me in trouble more then once in my life.

Unless he sold it, Chris is usually down on Parker with it. Funny how both of my old boats live on Parker now.

Actually considered trying to buy it back a couple times. This boat was super fun.

What I consider my first boat was my dad's early 80's Carrera. 454 with a jet and thousands of hours towing. No chance it is still around but they all looked the same back then so I always wonder.

My first boat was a kneeler hydro. Not really a hydro, it was all flat but look like it had sponsons. Second boat was a kneeler Glen l hydro my dad built. I helped a little bit in construction, but I absorbed a lot how things are built. Next boat was 8 ft pram, dad built also. Used as a chase boat for the hydro. Added a sail but couldn't sail it.
Had so much fun with that hydro. I'd build another one except my knees wouldn't have it.
First adult boat was a Sanger flat.

My first boat and still have it 23 years later. Typical Schiada spends most of its life on the trailer. I have receipts from when Bob Teague did the original twin turbo engine out of his garage.

Photo from the early 50's, My dads sister standing by his car (a bad ass Buick) with his 3 point hydro strapped on top and fishing boat full of gear towed behind. They were headed to MN to the family cabin on Gull Lake.

Like father, like son. Almost 20 years later, I was 15 years old when I bought my first boat. A 3 point hydro for a whopping $75. We put it on top of my dads company car to get it home. The good old days.

My first boat was a 26' Sleekcraft Executive. In 1979, I lived in Houston, and it was booming. I was 22, had started a commercial drywall company the year before, and had contracts to build out 550,000 SF of TI in cookie cutter lowrise office buildings.

It was time to buy a boat.

The Sleek was the coolest boat I found (looking in magazines, no internet :D ), and since there wasn't a dealer in Texas, I called up Bruce Nescher and made a deal to buy the boat for $16,000 cash. I drove to LA in my F-250 and rolled home with it.

I ordered it with a Harman Marine 440 and Berkeley jet, which resulted in a top speed of about 52 MPH. I didn't care, it made a lot of noise getting there, and the nose of the boat looked a mile long compared to the 18' jets on the lakes I frequented.

Those were the days!

Back in the early 90's (I was 22) I came pretty close to buying a 26' Sleekcraft/Conquest Enforcer from Bruce Nescher. I drove out to Havasu to go check out the Conquest and when I got there the shop was closed. I was pretty bummed out but as I was looking through the window of the shop here drives up Mike Murphy which I think Mike worked off and on as a salesman for Bruce. Mike called up Bruce and he took us out on the 26' Conquest Enforcer. Bruce brought the beers and pretty much made us feel like we were long-time friends. He even invited us over to his house where he brought out old pictures of his old shop in CA and home in Whittier. We found out he didn't live to far from us before he moved to Havasu. Soon after the company I worked for laid-off over 100 employees and I lost my Job so I didn't go through with the purchase. Bruce seemed like a great guy.

I sold my first boat to my aunt who ran it maybe half a dozen times in that many years. Then my sister bought it with aspirations of restoring it. Hasn't left her garage once

First boat was 1978 Centurion Flatbottom. The one pictured below isn't mine but gives an idea. Mine was completely hammered but it got us on the water for $1,200. Had to re-silicon the keel after every trip and change oil. I think we called it the beer coaster because all it was good for was keeping a beer dry.

I was 22 when I bought my 1st boat found it in the boat trader. A 1978 Sleekcraft Diplomat the owner got transferred to Chicago from Phoenix. That's when I fell in love with the west coast style of boats. That was back in 1985 Still love west coast boats today. Think it went to Lake of the Ozarks after I sold it have not seen it since.
