Has anyone had good luck selling anything on BAT. Would you do anything different what did you learn along the way?

Did you set a reserve or go without? (how do you protect yourself without a reserve)

My gut says it should sell for 14k +

They are all over the board but clean low mileage examples seem to bring good $$$ there.

I have an insanely clean low mile (42K) modified NA miata (All flying miata top tier stuff). (The red one in the link)

I've sold 7 or 8 cars on BaT, always a good experience but a considerable amount of work. Figure about 20-25 hours to list and manage the auction. Look at the past auctions for similar cars and read the comments. See what the common questions are and answer them in photos or the description. It pays to be a quick responding and honest seller.
A few weeks ago I tried Cars&Bids for the first time to sell a Boxster and was very happy with the process and outcome. Views were comparable to BaT, and I think the sale price was great. Much easier audience than the other site, no listing fee, and it was 4 days from submission to live on the site. Your Miata may be a good fit there as well.

cars and bids is another one that i am interested in. Do you think it would bring the same audience and amount of bids?

Did you do no reserve?

Did you end upselling the Boxster there? How did it go?

I feel that the views and attention were very close if not better than BaT. 30 listings per day vs over 100-better chance your car is seen.

I did no reserve this time. I have done the same on a few BaT cars. This was a 200k mile 5spd Boxster, in pretty decent condition. I expected 6k and it sold for 7986.00. Cost me nothing to list, and I did the photos myself this time (I normally pay about 250 for professional photos).

I will also add that the C&B app made uploading photos and answering questions super easy.

I’ve sold on both
No reserve generally brings more money on either platform

Cars and bids is the red headed step child of BAT

Just be sure to use proper BAT language when writing the ad....

Dont say
"original red paint" ❌
Instead......say
"classic Mazda red livery" ✅

Dont say
"this is a clean original miata" ❌
Instead......say
"One could do far worse than to purchse this exemplary specimin of Mazda's timeless sports coupe" ✅

Dont say
12,000 o.b.o.❌
Instead......say
"Enteraining offers above reserve" ✅

Dont say
"I know what i've got❌
Instead......say
"Seller is fully cognizant of his asset and it's worth" ✅

Wow man. I’ve learned a lot about you lately on this site. First that little squirt boat and now a Miata? Might get a better response if you wait til June to sell it as it is Pride Month. Just sayin…
Brother you have been daily driving a Camry since 2005.

Let’s also not forget that you were in a gay fraternity in college so let’s make a deal as this 300hp Miata will rocket you to stardom in the shaved head muscle hamster crowd.

2012. Still had cool lifted trucks in 2005.

I’d have to use both seats in the Miata. I got in a GT3RS with my USC linebacker buddy and we had to take turns putting our seatbelts on. It’s not easy being a beast.

Even with 300hp, the power to weight ratio wouldn’t rocket me anywhere.

While I’ve never *listed* anything on BaT, I’ve bought a couple things. I’d say get as many pictures as you can on the listing, and be *ACTIVE* while it’s running. It’s super frustrating to ask a question that goes unanswered.

I need to get my 67 Chevelle listed, but the no reserve part of things scares me lol.

Now you are talking about taking turns with your buddy… tmi guy

Kid loves the Miata runs with beer mustangs and Camaros around the track.

I prefer a little more hp …4 digit is just about right😎🤠

Can’t you choose a reserve? I know they fight you on it but I would be pretty not happy not getting what I want.

That’s photoshop. How is that running without the front wheels spinning? 🤣

You can, for sure. The no reserve auctions get way more action though.

I personally have used a local dealer to list my cars on BAT, ottocarclub, they charge 10%.
Always no reserve, brings more bidders.
Most action happens in the last 5 minutes.
One thing I have learned is commenters are not bidders & bidders are not commenters.
BAT always bring top dollar.

Lots of photos of every thing, be prepared to engage and answer questions. A friend of mine just crushed it on there with a 356 outlaw, went $20k over what we thought it would fetch.

Best license plate frame I ever saw on a Miata said “I’m not gay, but my Miata is”

Good luck on sale.

CT. BaT is a good place to have quick responses to sell popular cars, regardless of brands. Set your minimum reserve you comfortable with. You'll find someone that loves these little rockets. NA is the most coveted if it's in the condition your's is in. There's no other car in this class, small [ powerful like your's] that's so easy om maintenance/longevity, in the affordable category, period. Some of the jokers here :pnever met a 300HP Miata on the street, lol
NICE👍

Doesn't matter how much HP your car have, if don't have the skill/talent on the track. My son and buddy's team running less than 400HP in the Porsche Cup cars, annihilate most of the GTR3 groups. And we didn't even finish the RSR car in the garage, that's waiting on the refreshed engine;) BTW, my son won Sunday's race in the GT54 Class

Those BAT ads are the most non committal ads Ive every read.

This car sold on BAT 3 days ago and is now offered for sale. The odometer shows 35,000 and comes equipped with a 130 mph speedometer. The car is green and said to have undergone a restoration. The engine provides power to the transmission, the axles then turn to the reportedly rounds wheels.

Just sold my track-prepped Miata on Cars & Bids.

Easy and did as well as I could expect (listed without reserve).

They set me up with a photographer and surveyor, and wrote the ad (from my description).

Is important to answer questions.
