I had to steer my first little boat like that one time. The steering cable broke. So I sat in the back and pushed the engine side to side to get us back to the dock. Throttle cable was good, just the steering wheel went around and around with zero effect. LOL

Is it just me or was anybody else hoping the back seat would fly up and knock his ass off?

My uncle's boat had the opposite happen once. Throttle cable broke but steering was good so my Uncle rigged up a rope on the throttle arm and throttled while my buddy steered. My uncle would goose it from time to time when Nick wasn't expecting it. It was pretty damn funny. Made it back with little issue except quite a few laughs.

Years back, I took my outboard fishing boat out of Mission Bay in SD down into Mexican Waters.

While fishing down there, my steering went out. My buddy was on the throttle while I sat on the transom steering. We traded off a few times when it got too uncomfortable. Shit sucked
