I got it setup this evening, I can get the cursor to switch between screens, I can copy folders from one to the other and open independently, however I can't seem to open independent browsers. Right screen is the main. When I open a browser on the left screen, it pops up on the right.

I've gone into the apps, dragged the icon to the desktop, I've copied browser from the right to the left, been reading a few things I searched about how to fix , but nothing seems to be working.

I'm sure it's something simple, just missing it.

Windows 10

Assuming you mean web browser? Right click on your browser of choice and click on its logo. It should open a new instance. Otherwise create a new tab (Ctrl + T) and then drag that tab to your other screen.

It does appear I have to open the browser on the right and drag it to the left, I can't simply keep an icon on the left screen and open it. Thank you

There are a few settings with dual monitors. It has been some time since I had a PC. You should be able to change the settings of the video card. Most times from your screen. You can extend or have a mirror of the original. What video card and operating system are you running?

I read about opening, dragging to the other screen, then closing. Did not work though.

Windows 10, and no idea about the video card. When I got the idea, I did read about video cards being a determining factor. It's getting close to new computer time anyway. I'm not buying a 350K pontoon anytime soon, so I have a little extra cash for a new laptop that may work better.

I just got it setup a few hours ago, still in the learning curve.

Thanks for the replies

Also if anyone is looking I have my “old” (6 month) 32” 4k for sale in the classified section.

You are going to have to go into the control panel and your monitor settings. I am not in front of my set up right now, but can message you in the morning on how to get it to work right. PM me your email and I can do a video walk through for you.

I have one ultra wide 48" and a 24" I setup in landscape mode for email and watching stuff while I work on the main space, you just need to id your monitors then set them up how you would expect the cursor to move in this panel

Did you try this? Sounds like what @spectra3279 recommended but slightly different

To set this - you open the application, drag it to the screen you want it to open on, minimize it to half size (the middle square shape on the top far right - beside the X) and then close it out without maximizing it again. From now on it will open on that screen. Do this with anything you want to designate to a certain screen- and it will stay that way until you change it by repeating this process on a different screen.

Is your "main" screen set to the monitor you want it on?

Right click on Taskbar, open Task Bar settings and choose the setting you want under "show Taskbar butons on"

Then drag the browser from your desktop onto the taskbar so you can open it from the taskbar. You can also open a second instance of the browser from the regular desktop shortcut.

And yes, the browser will open on the screen where it was last closed.
