Possible Scam???

I got a message on my phone from someone claiming they are calling on behalf of the Disney board of directors apparently regarding stock I hold in the company. Now its true that I do hold a chunk of Disney stock in my portfolio but I doubt that it is enough that the board of directors would have any interest in it. Pretty sure this is a phishing expedition.

Wife checked the call back number and it's definitely a phishing scam. What kind of concerns me is that the know the brokerage house that holds my portfolio, they know my name and they know my phone number. It's like they are looking for that last bit of info to break into my account.

I get so many spam calls that I started answering them in Spanish to try and get them to hang up and take me off the list.

Some fucker today started talking to me in Spanish so I had to hang up, since my actual Spanish knowledge is what I remember from high school.

I either don't answer unknown numbers and send them to my generic voicemail or I answer "Verizon fraud department. Who am I speaking with?" I either hear a click of the hang up or I hear laughter from a friend calling from a new number.

I never answer or respond to any random call/text. Why would I? The worlds electronic fraud is beyond rampant. Doesn't matter if the US has laws, they mean shit to any/all peeps.
One of the common phishing texts we've gotten simply asks if your name is .............?(fill the blank).

Lol. My cousin is the chief of police for a city in Southern California. He told me they often times call just to copy your voice. To scam later on using your voice.

So I too answer in different languages and tones. That's for the numbers that get through as not spam calls. Those I let go to voice-mail. But sometimes they get through and it could be work. So I'm silent for a second in hopes someone talks first. Then I answer in different languages. In the rare instance it is a work call even after all that. I just explain. They always laugh. Most numbers I have saved or know fairly well. So it's not common.
