Down to 5 pups at home. Charlie and Lauren are stoked on their little pup Reggie! They will be adding him into their family which includes a 4 year old cattle dog named DJ.

The pups continue to grow and now their ears are starting to stand up.

Neighbors have had theirs for a week now, the little white male with the eye patch is changing colors rpidly. Here is Bonnie and Buster at their new homes.

The cat has never returned, hopefully it found its way home after regaining strength.

That is Great News!

So we still haven’t found a name for our little bundle of joy!

Lets see….
Penny
Maple
Sneaker
Squeeks
And a few more…

We have her on a leash at times when we take her outside to squirt or Launch!
I swear she has gained a lb or 2 and has doubled in size in the week we have had her!

She eats alot and Likes to play & sleep

They are growing fast for sure. Most of them added 1.5 lbs, one added 2.5 lbs between deworming visits!!! Great to see her receiving love in her new home.

This whole venture was about love. Dogs give us unconditional love. 9 unconditional lovers are in this world now versus never having been been born, or born into the wrong situation/condition for a chance to thrive.

Good golly, so much love! Can't believe how well they are playing! This makes it all worth it.

4 left at home, and will be down to three tomorrow. The light blonde female went home last night. The step-daughter (Gaige) of the woman (Angie) that has been helping me with the pups took one. Angie got involved thanks to a member reaching out to me via PM and sharing her contact info. She has been so good to us, helping with shots and deworming and giving advice. Gaige and her mother came over while I was still at work, so I didn't get a photo of them with their pup Soda Pop. Black make with white paws (Bandit) goes home tomorrow, will get a pic with him and his family as they head off into the sunset.

I haven't actively been looking for homes for the last 3 due to other commitments with work and life, but I need to get cracking on that. The earlier the better so they can develop with their forever homes. Part of me loves the fairy tale story of keeping one or two pups, but I just don't think it can happen with my sporadic work travel requirements. Already having a bit of anxiety thinking about what to do with momma Maggie as she is just so mischievous - i found she chewed up my christmas light string I keep around my palm tree out front and she also chewed up one of my $1000 Louis Viton slippers. Kidding, it was a $10 wal mart flip flop, but she still got her chops busted for it just the same. She IS playing really well with my male terrier now, and he wants absolutely nothing to do with any of the pups, so that has me leaning to putting the effort into keeping Maggie and sending all the pups to good homes.

It's kind of crazy how alike Pepper and Maggie look! Does Lucky dive in to try and get any milk? All the little ones here still chase Momma for milk even though she is not producing milk any more.

Lucky isnt lucky with feeding from pepper

We just started the conversion to actual kibble food and trying to get away from the mush - still feeding the same brand / type of food.

Trying to get her on a water bowl and actual food

Great name!
We actually test ran several names. Difficult to get the right one.

Penny was a top contender
I liked Squeekz or Squeekers

But
We Got Lucky with Lucky…

She filled a huge hole in our hearts and she has some really big shoes to fill…

Every day is something new and she has developed a bark and isnt so wobbly on her feet.

She likes to follow you around and then pounce on your feet…

Well Today is 9 weeks old for little Lucky ! She’s gets her Boosters on 7/26.

She is a bundle of energy!! Pepper and Lucky are so good together, Lucky mimics Pepper and just follows her around - like a little brown shadow!

We play Fetch w/ tennis balls with Pepper, She loves the exercise and we try to engage Lucky, but she isn’t quite there yet. Lucky has started to bark occasionally and she is developing her coordination and curiosity. We also walk her on a leash.

We were curious about her breed and sent out for a DNA test, Not the full genetic panel.
So we’ll know what make and model she is In, say … RDP style - 2 weeks !

she still sleeps a lot & growing fast!

here is the BS ! Back Sleeper

Thanks for the update on Lucky Doug! Excited to hear back about the DNA testing, I'm guessing a Shepard is the father based on the coloring and look of the dogs that don't look heeler.

Still have 3 pups at home. White Male - London , Black Male - Barrett, and Brown Female - River

A neighbor is supposed to be taking London this week. Have had other interested parties in the other two, but for now, Barrett and River are still avaliable. I will not be keeping any puppies, as much as I want to. They've had 2 rounds of vax shots now as well as being dewormed.

It has been really fun the last couple weeks just having these three around and watching them grow and play, but I can't lie when I say I'll be happy when they are all gone to good homes.

You dont need much room, he’s small!! ……for now. There was an identical female in the litter but she was the runt and is half his size. I predicted he would be the last to go based on being so ā€œblandā€ looking. He makes up for it with his personality! Hes a goof.

I can't but can't stop looking at him either....lol

The ones people shy away from make the best pups. He will get adopted.

Thanks again for stepping up. Good karma coming your way

@DILLIGAF

We Got Lucky from Evantwheeler after Toby passed he had a 2nd growth of Liver cancer, 1st one we had removed and it was the size of a grape fruit. The 2nd one took 3 years to come back.

Our 4 year old Blue Healer ( Pepper ) has taken Lucky under her wing, she is gentle and yet also plays aggressive to match Luckys abilities. We have a total of 4 dogs and the other 2 don’t really care to play / interact with Lucky or Pepper

This endeavor has been a really good experience for our family pack. Adding a younger pup while the main dog is in their prime has been a great experience for us.

London is off to his Fuurever home today! Vivian is a neighbor and her boyfriend Tony is a river lover and has a really nice CP jet boat. Im sure someone here has to know him. Owner/operator of a concrete pump, does little stuff around Menifee area. Great people, i always enjoy when they stop by. They have 3 adult dogs that are super well behaved and loved immensely, i know London is hitting the jackpot with his new home! Two left to go.

Lucky got her 3 week Booster shot today! She was 11 weeks old yesterday!

11.7 lbs @ 7/26/23
Growing fast and has a Curious nature about her. Pepper and Lucky are like Velcro dogs they are always together playing and engaging.
Pepper has mellowed out and has become a better dog in our pack. Don’t get me wrong they both get the Zoomies and rip around the house And then they crash out.

This has been an Amazing experience for us! I can’t Thank Evantwheeler enough….

Pups are 12 weeks old now. Still trying to find a home for the black male, whom I named Barrett. He definitely has his father's genes as he is already tipping the scale at 20lbs, whereas the female is 16lbs. The mother is only 33lbs, so all signs point to him being bigger than she is. His face looks very lab like, and coloring looks kinda rotty. His ears are down 99% of the time, once in a while they'll pop up. He loves laying spread eagle with his belly flat and hind legs extended bacwards as I have seen many pits & bull dog breeds do. He has developed some more brown on him as he has grown, and has turned into a pretty good looking dog from his initial all-black with white tipped tail look when he was born.

I have been trying through social media and through co-workers to find his forever home, but haven't had any hits. I haven't got to the point where I just do a mass social media campaign for a free dog, because for all the effort, I really want to make sure he goes to a good home, but the time is coming that he needs to live somewhere else, unfortunately the party at my house is over. Open to suggestions or referrals on finding this pup a good home if anyone has any ideas.

I communicated with two local SoCal rescues a while back, one being a heeler specific one, and neither would consider my pups. The heeler rescue wouldn't accept them because they don't look like heelers, and the other said they only accept dogs that are in more dire situations, basically, I'm not abusing him enough. Ha. I get it though, kind of like when my Chalie got turned away from every ER Vet from OC to Escondido after getting attacked by Coyotes. He wasn't dieing, so no one could tie up a triage table with a dog who wasn't going to die immediately. On that topic, if anyone EVER wants the best ER Animal Hospital experience ever, go to VEG in Encinitas. They were the best.

Thanks for the update Doug! Kids are looking good. On of my neighbors stopped by this morning with her pup from the litter, he is a great dog for them, but is the only one of the litter that is aggressive. They are great parents and have 3 other dogs in their pack, but this one is super protective and not friendly to other people. Crazy how different they all are. They sure are all unique and beautiful looking!

Momma has been a great addition to our home.

Lucky is a more dominant dog - She is a leader and isnt afraid of things, she is always thinking and scanning she likes to sit w/ me in my chair, She always want to figure the angle what’s in it for her….

Kodi - is a big lug and a scare-die cat, he will bark & it’s a big burly bark and make a ruckus / stand off ish if a new person comes into the house, Still waiting for him to think…lol
he is a lover & emotional, He always wants to check in but not a licker, loves scratches, He is totally Food driven and learns quickly if food treats are involved

Lucky and Kodi play together and love to ruff house

Between Pepper, Lucky and Kodi it’s always a game of Wack a Mol once they get going….

They both are Awesome fit in our pack very nicely

although we didn’t do the DNA test for Kodi

Love it Doug, thanks for the update. I get to see 3 pups from the litter fairly often here in the neighborhood, 1 more is with a co workers son so she is always showing me photos, my cousin took one so im getting updates from them, and with your two, that makes 7 of the 9 that i have seen in person or photos of within the past month. Its crazy how big they have all gotten! (some more than others)

What a fucking nightmare ordering that test kit. The said my zip didn't match on the payment page. Had to renter the zip and still didn't accept it. Exited out and see they took funds out twice and put funds back in twice. So I went back to the website.....ordered again and same message. Now they have taken it out a third time....lol I am hoping they go ahead and credit back a third time. WTF is going on with their portal?

No confirming email of an order or anything. Tried getting a contact number and there isn't one only email to them.

I fucking give up.....

EDIT.....Just looked and they credited my account a third time which is good but I am done........

EDIT #2.....Now they are sending me marketing stuff via email.....

You can't make this shit up

AAAAGGGGGHHHHHH

Spent some time back in the PNW recently and got to see ā€œRiverā€, the first born of the litter and the one I would have kept if i wanted to start a dog farm. 2 dogs is enough for me, and my cousin and his wife are totally loving having a fur baby. They are both approaching 50, no kids and this is their first dog in their 20 or so years together.

Sadly the dogs didnt play well together, it was an abusive family reunion. They havent done a ton of dog socializing with River and she doesnt seem to have good social skills. Could just be her puppy energy that annoyed my dogs. Was still cool to see her though.

Maggie the momma is the little heeler, river is the brown Heeler/Husky/Shepard/Great Dane mutt. They wanted no part in a side by side family portrait, this is the best we got. Maggie weighs in around 40lbs. They said River is about 50-52 lbs.
