Right after you cross into AZ from Needles, Fusion Concepts on the left has dock looking items in their yard. Looks new and used. I’d start there. My parents are buying a house on the river in Mohave Valley and we'll need a dock. Something used would be great. Looking for something rectangular, maybe 8x16. Any recommendations?

I think Overtons or west marine sells the floats and all hardware, I would think you could buy the stuff and hire a handy man to rig /set it... the handy man would have to be a good one but think that would be doable...
Back in the 80's I had a dock installed on the river in Bullhead City, I think I had to contact the state and the US Army Corps of Engineers as you will need a permit from both.
If I remember they will also tell you the size of the dock you can install.
Thank you, I had a dock at one time so hopefully it won't be a big issueRead this before installing anything on the water.

A friend and I built my replacement dock in my carport with parts I found on the net, stuff laying about the shop and from the hardware store.
I haven't figured out the cost but it was quite a bit cheaper than what others wanted to build me one.
I'll find the builders in Fontana's info. and post it up when I get a chance. View attachment 754999 View attachment 755000 View attachment 755001 View attachment 755002 View attachment 755003 View attachment 755004 View attachment 755005 View attachment 755006 View attachment 755007

Coming down your way today
That's a fantastic job Wheeler. One question- how did you get it into the water? With the decking and all had to be several hundred pounds?
Be a little later. Work on a Sunday. Have you lost your mindWhat time? I getting ready to head to work for a bit.

Thanks for the reply
what is it that you need? friends just had a dock built and his brothers are having two more built. This second group of docks will be less costly than the first.I reached out to them as well and I am looking for an alternative. Who did you end up using?
I'm playing with the idea of building my own too.
Cheap or expensive, steel or aluminum? A steel one is getting built now and should be in phoenix for hot dipped galvanizing.10'x20' L shape with a 20' gangway/walkway off my beach. Walkway will rest on sand. Needles.
Might try Durham Const. down at Moonridge is where his office is, Denise is the office manager and Mark is the owner, don't have the phone number unfortunately

I'll get photos when it comes back. I'll go out front in a bit and take pix of the new one that was installed a couple of weeks ago.
I did not ask what this dock cost. I'm sure it will come up in conversation at some point in time. The two that are getting built now I'll get pix when they are done or when I go back to the dock builders.Sounds good, thanks. Aluminum, expensive, well built and made to last. Right now I only have one quote and I want to see what other options are out there.
We ended up going with Fusion. My dad called them 1st and initially felt they weren't very helpful. I called them and had the opposite experience. Spent a lot of time on the phone with me and ended up selling us a used dock installed for a great price.
Unfortunately that dock caught on fire when a battery failed in the dock box. After that we had them build us a custom dock with two seadoo ramps. Everything came out great
