Good times. Crazy to think how long we have all been messing with these boating sites.

Sadly so last time I looked too😟. I have(or maybe it's had🤷‍♂️) moderator powers on Havasu Dougs.
I just checked in.
2005 date over there
It took me awhile to get here.
With all the early dates here my 2010 is Rookie status.

The brick! I was roaming the country decommissioning data centers during that time. A $1500 monthly bill (or more) was typical.
I remember those days! Heck, even business landlines and that stupid "long distance" crap ended up costing between 750-1000 month. Except for employees and rent, it was the largest monthly expense for my small biz.

Sept 23, 2007...how do you tell your member number? I forgot how...

Been fun here...seen a lot of good folks go and not so good folks move on...I find it fascintating as back in the early 2000's I was interested in bigger and faster boats and as I have gotten older I am interested in boats I can launch and retrieve by myself so I don't need a crew or posse, easier to find dock space for, multi faceted, just more practical...

I think its down to a couple guys over there.
Last I was on there I don't even think Doug has made a post for several years. Someone is paying to have the site hosted though. Dunno.

RD is the reason I started over at HavasuDougs. Old Ardy had a thread about alternative forums to HB after one of the numerous site crashes, Doug's was one of those mentioned. It was a great group of people back then but was kind of cliquish and no new blood came in, so as the originals lost interest the traffic kept dieing off.

I checked into the 2010 and newer thread, but I realized that I qualify for the 2010 and older one. So, disregard the other one…

This has been a true discussion over here. I have been looking to move up to mid 24-28 range. The reality is my wife has some significant back challenges and both my kids are College deep with little to no free time.

I can handle my current Essex without any help and I am, like all humans, not getting any younger. So smaller boats it is.

Sept 23rd, 2007. Member 66.

My join date was a Sunday. I looked back at some photos and we happened to be on the lake that day. I must have signed up when I got home that evening.

I don't come on here much any longer, but still enjoy many of the threads.

Photo from my join date. Sunday on Lake Mead 09/23/07. Most of the photos that day are of my wife in a skimpy bikini. Hahaha.
