Anybody recognize this frame? I built it many years ago for my kid, it was under the impression that the frame was a

@Tank may know. I'm trying to remember who had that aluminum frame. Peep for a serial # and check it online. I think bmx museum.com is the site you can check it.

One piece cranks? It’s not familiar to me that style . But the aluminum looks like it could be a Raleigh brothers
It was built from random parts. I just knew the frame was desirable.

So scrap?
Here's the thing about older BMX frames I've learned through-out the past 25 plus years of paying attention to the market. I don't throw anything away. If you have a shed or attic in your garage or something, just throw it up there and wait another 10 years. I'd hate to say, "yeah, pitch it" and then in 10 years when you're looking through Craigs list the bike is selling for 1500-2k. Now, not enough to retire on but for me, it pains me to think I'd be throwing away something that will most likely be worth something down the road. EVERY BMX bike I've had over the years has increased in value. All of the bikes I sold off ten years or so ago (Hutch's Patterson's, Santa Ana GT's, CW's, Race Inc.'s, SE Racing models, Redlines, Kuwahara, ETC from the 80's and 90's) have all gone up in value (a lot) from what I sold them for ten years ago. If you have the space to tuck it away do that. I'd even strip it down to just the frame because the parts wont ever be worth much. If not, then yeah, pitch it.

My Pattersons bought my 19' Daytona 13 or so years ago. Today I could have had a Schiada! 😂

I've had four Pattersons. Two 24"s a 20" and a 19" that both my daughter and my son rode. I ended up selling it though. Living on the beach, I just can't have chrome bikes hanging in the garage. They get DESTROYED

I traded my 24' for my 63 Notchback. Code Blue had it for awhile and then parted it out. Had the 24" graphites with Campy hubs. Such a badass build.

I've still got a Champion Cruiser, a Cook Bros 26" Cruiser, and a Bassett 24" Cruiser . . . BMX Cruisers from the 80's are rad.
You have a lot of coin sitting there!

I have a 1986 GT Performer frame up in my attic...was my bike as a kid, I had left it at my grandparents house and over the years just forgot about it....when my grandparents passed and going through everything, we found the frame....no clue what happened to the rest of the parts...I just figure knowing my grandpa he probably used them to help fix other kids bikes through out the years...

Man, you should see my buddies little collection . . . he's got a polished stainless steel Cooks 26" Cruiser, I guess there weren't many of those made.
His Bassett 26" cruiser is insane as well. We were into those things in the early 90's when they were more available at garage sales etc. I think he's still got a Laguna, and a Gary Littlejohn . . . . I really regret selling my 24" Cooks, it was Gary Cooks personal bike that I restored . . . I sold it around 15 years ago when I needed cash. It went to a good home at least.

This is awesome. great thread.
I still have my GT Mach one I built in 91 I was 13. Saved for a year as a kid and ordered the frame and forks then slowly built it. DK neck, Powerlite bars, Aray wheels with DK flip flop hubs. Odyssey brakes and triple trap pedals, Excalibur crank. Elf seat and post. Its in my shed. Flite pads are crap but otherwise in the same shape it was 30 years ago.

I threw a good 20” Redline frame away 17 years ago. Had to have been an early 90’s model, maybe late 80’s. The Redline insignia and serial number was engraved on underside of bottom bracket housing. Needed a re-chrome and honestly the welds didn’t look all that special, so I chucked it. 🤷‍♂️. I kick myself a bit over it. Love the old BMX bikes. Really any old bike. A bike equaled freedom from parents 😂

I regret getting rid of every bike I ever raced or rode. I did find a box with some old parts. Including some crupi bear trap pedals. Didn’t realize how much they were going for on eBay.

I was heavy into collecting and restoring from early 90's to early 2000's. At one point I had so many bikes and bike frames I didn't know what to do with it. Ebay was still pretty new and there really wasn't THAT many people into collecting 80's bikes so things were still cheap. I paid like $350 FF for my 24" Hutch and $400 for one of the FF 24" Pattersons I had. But like I said, having all that chrome sitting around collecting dust (and more so rust) in the garage was not cool. So I offed nearly everything. Still have a 24" Profile, 24" Floval, 20" PK Ripper and 24" Quadangle to play around on. My 8 Y/o had a 2010ish Mini Ripper he got handed down from my 13 year old who was riding the 20" PK Ripper. But now the 8 y/o rolls the PK and the 13 Y/o rides the Floval. Retired the mini ripper.

I really want a 26" GT Performer (the new retro ones). But I want blue and yellow and can't bring myself to pay the prices people are asking for them. Like I said, ALL decent built BMX bikes through the years gain value.

I see in Newport on Weekends all the time, a huge group of SE PK Ripper guys that come into town on their Big Rippers and the like to the blacktop at Newport El Impressive hardware for sure.

Since was a grommet I wanted a white Redline PL-24. Priced out of the market now. Might settle for a repop PL-26. Be a nice cruiser

I was born and raised in the coast also. Mothers polish is a life saver to chrome on the coast when storing. Slather on some mothers and dont wipe it off. Leave it and let it dry, will prevent rust while storing for a long time. All my bicycles and dirtbikes got this treatment even if was only going to set till the fallowing weekend. I started with Tuttle wax(the ones that came with the pad in the container) but found that mothers works way better!! Pull them out, wipe them down(the white flaky powder will make a mess) and good as new! Jmo

I remember the pit bikes were ALL THE RAVE in the late 80's. EVERYONE had one. Fun little bikes to do freestyle stuff.

I've wanted a freestyle bike for a long time. I had a 20" PK set up for freestyle in the early 90's lolWhen I saw GT was repoppin the peformer in 26"....I'm tempted. Put front and rear pegs on, fork stands, front brakes and gyro headset and get busy. I was actually 'ok' in my 20's at freestyle. I can still mess around a little. My kids trip out. LOL

Like I said, yellow / blue OG GT colors would be awesome but they haven't made that color combo for a few years. You can still get a baby blue performer for like $900. The all white ones are pretty bad ass too.

Then again, a 29" PK dirt jumper wouldn't suck either.

All of these will be worth twice as much in five years. Guaranteed.

Seems a LOT of the old school companies are repoppin their old stuff. Skateboards too. Smart. People buy for nostalgia and they sell out. Then the prices go up even on the repop stuff.

Yeah, I would actually do that but so many bikes and messing with them all the time and building and selling and trading and then they'd sit and then start up again, etc etc. Plus my garage is super small and they lined the whole wall, up on all the shelves. It got to be a bit much and they were finally getting a little neglected.

It's all good. I'm happy with what I have now. Although my buddy wants my 24 Quad angle and I may just sell it to him to buy that 26" GT Performer and pimp it out like I want too now. LOL

The wish you still had, I had the #11 GT ever made. Sold it when I got a new Powerlite for Christmas, sold one to get the next. I still have my last 2 race bikes, 86 Elf pro 20" and 94 Elf 24". I can't count the number of bikes I had over the years, during my factory years I would get new bikes every 3-4 months and sell the old ones to neighbor kids for cheap. I have a new Elf Legacy 26" that I am slowly building up as parts come in. I also have a Dan Gurney mono shock frame that I would love to build or find someone that wants too.

Anyone know what type of bike this is?
It looks like it is stainless steel? The frame looks unique to me.
Not sure if it is old, newer, real brand, junk.

Early 00's Haro Fusion or backtrail. Good condition probably worth about $500 give or take the condition and parts.

Nice set!
Apparently the FSA cranks are worth money on the Speed Series. The box frame was the last year GT was made in the US (pretty sure at least)

Funny how we are all into the same stuff, lol
