Nice Chip!:D

Kate, see what you can do! Since this is going to be Chips first summer as official ITT, he's going to be throwing a rager at his place and paying for everything. Put your order in early if you want the good stuff!!! :champagne::drunk

I like ragers!!!! I'm going to drink until my "check liver" light comes on!!!! Woooooo!!!! Thanks, Chip! I like Crown Royal, so STOCK UP!

I was already threatened with a DNR form this weekend. For those who are not familiar with it, a DNR is "Do Not Rent". :D :champagne: :smackbum:

So...we've never registered a boat in AZ before. I have the old registration (which expired) and the title.... How do I register it and how much do you think it will cost for a 1972 Tahiti 16'? Should I register it in AZ (where the boat lives) or in CA (where I live)?

Thanks!
Kate

Absolutely register it in AZ.
Here's a news flash: Havasu Lake patrol don't like Californians. :grumble:
Having that AZ tag rather than a CA tag is just one more EZ step to keep the po-po off yer pooper.:smackbum:

Says Richy Rich from Vegas. I'm sure that Billy has his handlers deal with all these sorts of nuisances. :p

Go to Game and Fish in AZ with the title and cash. Come out in <10 minutes with the registration. Fees are posted at:

http://www.azgfd.gov/pdfs/outdoor_recreation/New WC fee schedule.pdf
No question about it! The AZ Fish and Game makes the CA DMV look like... well.... the DMV! ;)

The only problem is that there's not a game & fish in Havasu, you have to drive an hour to Kingman for the closest one. $30.00 is worth 2+ hours of my time.

Okay, Daddio.... why would the po-po want my pooper? Apparently, it will cost me $220 to register the "golden turd" in AZ as opposed to about $40 to register it in CA, because I'm a "non-resident" of AZ. Obviously, they haven't heard how much it costs to park the trailer turd at the Islander, otherwise they'd cut me a break!

I'm so confused..... :grumble:

Technically, you are supposed to register the boat where ever you use it a majority of the time, 51%+. There is no way to check where you use it. I would register it where ever it's cheaper. The Islander doesn't care either.

The Non resident part of the Az registration is pretty stupid.

I just transferred title and registered my '81 Tahiti & trailer in CA.
Cost me $87 :thumbsup
Did it all in one shot at the DMV, just make an appointment.
Told 'em I paid $500 for everything, so sales tax was low.

I had originally called Sierra Title, was about twice that to register it in AZ once AZDOT and Fish & Game got their cut...but based on what others here on RDP told me, a CA vehicle pulling an AZ trailer is a red flag for the CHP.

I just didn't want the hassels, plus it did cost less (surprisingly) in CA.

No shit - I have a PO Box at the Islander and used that to register when I still lived in So Cal!

There is definitely a point of diminishing returns when registering a boat in AZ. For me it was the CA unsecured property tax that forced me to register my boat in AZ. In CA my registration would have been in excess of $1,300/yr. In AZ it's $260 or something like that. The majority of my CA registration would have been in the form of that BS tax.

That would be pretty damn funny if the registration on a $500 boat would be $1,300 a year. Mind you, that would be MY luck. You must be talking about some kind of "luxury tax", of which we would DEFINITELY be exempt. They should pay ME for having such a crappy boat.

Hey, you're a pretty fart smeller. I mean smart feller..... and I DID pay $500 for the whole shootin match, so I'm good. And I just happen to have a spare CA trailer to swap it out with, not that I ever tow it anywhere. Not that I even have a vehicle TO tow it with. It just sits at the Islander and I pay them $20 to launch it for me.

When we're at the Islander, we'll have to have a "who's boat is crappier" contest. I'm betting on my boat :D

I hope I lose, but I doubt I will. Mine is a nicely faded rootbeer brown metal flake.... and we installed the GRAY carpet we had bought for the Floating Turd (the 74 Witchcraft we flushed) and the GRAY bimini top we took off of the Floating Turd.... :) Beat THAT.

We're out the weekend of the 15th.
BTW, the Islander has a policy on how old your motor home/trailer can be, but nothing for boats :grumble: :champagne:
Have you guys considered the Beachcomber? It's where people go when they are kicked out of Crazy Horse, LOL.   :party2: :party2:

Even if you're not staying there, just roll thru the front gate and tell the guard "I'm friends with Chip"

Bonus points awarded for not stopping. :D

I think I'm unscathed. I was by Brandon's site when I was talking to security. I don't think he was serious about the DNR, but he did make mention to the size of the files for some other ITT'rs. None of us though :D

Dang it, Lynn! I'll buy you some wine. Or I can wear my flipflop costume and maybe Mini will play with me. Last time, the only dog who wanted to play with me was Chickie and that was SICK.

I can't afford a cart, I spent my last $500 on a boat. Now you know why none of my firefighter coworkers will hang out with me. No truck and an ugly boat. The only thing I have in common with them is that I married a nurse. Lol!
LMAO! :D

Now that is just not so - She only humps... errrr... loves on Labs!

Ok I'm confused, are you Kate or Daniel and is the nurse a male or female. This is at the tipping point of "really hot" :thumbsup ...or Yes on Prop 8 :gayfight

I am Kate... And I am a firefighter. Daniel is a boy. He is a nurse. Many firefighters are married to nurses, you know. Daniel wants to be a cop when he grows up. I think I might want to be a cowgirl or maybe an Indian. I'm not sure yet.
