Looking into buying moroso valve seat pressure checking tool up to 400#. Which ones do you gear heads use, prefer or have seen work really well, accuraty and reliably?
More concerned with quality and ease of use then cost.

Is this the same as a leak down tester? 😎

No, this is for testing valve seat spring presures on assembled cyl. Heads to help determine the health of your valve springs, ie. are they losing tension and ability to close the valves effectively.

This is what I have and use. It's adjustable for different types of rockers and lengths.

Little more than the Moroso though
Thanks T.V. I was looking at those too as you mentioned them when we spoke. I just wanting to see what all was out there before I pulled the trigger. LSM is nice stuff for sure. I just bought their poly-loc wrench and
feeler guage holder for valve adjustments.
Just not sure I like the way it grips the spring based on the photo's and description. At $320.00 I'd be pretty disappointed to receive it and not like it...
The way it works etc..maybe I'm being too picky?
Does the alum fork hook on the spring or rocker body? I do like the angled handle tho...looks like it will clear the headers w/o removing them which would be real nice. The 0-600# rate is certainly a big benefit. 1 tool for most all spring rates.
The moroso unit apperas it may hit them. That would suck..haha
Thx for linking/weighing in.

I use the Proform 67597 which is a copy of the LSM and sells for $249 at Summit. You just hook the "tooth" under the pushrod end of the rocker arm and then adjust the wheel to the rocker arm and then pull down. You can do all 16 in under a minute.

I'll get a picture tonight at the shop and send it. it hooks the rocker body not the spring. you use it with the rockers installed. And yes, works with Headers installed as well.
One thing you want to do, is get the "bench" pressure from the machinist when setting up the heads or at least check them (note what they are installed) with the unit when springs are new. Then you can keep track of them better.

Another vote for LSM or borrow one. You won't be dissapointed in the tool.

Curious, Can cranking the starter now and then increase the longevity of valve springs during the off season?

Thanks, I searched amazon today for better pricing on 1 then summit but the websites showing them appear to be some chinese crap sites. One site shows the LSM vert. Handle style tool yet calls it by their name "Hihitomorrow" @$219.00
I don't need that headache for a discount..I'll just pay the price and get on with my work.
Thanks for chiming in.

Yes absolutely. Or rotate it by hand 180 each month

I use this exclusively on my stuff. Pricey but worth it. I also use the spring changing tools from LSM. Comes with and intake and exhaust piece to bolt to the rocker arm mount for use on shaft rockers.
