Brittany Force laid down a 341.58 run in qualifying last night, upping the NHRA Top Fuel national speed record by a huge 3½ MPH. In the same quad run, Doug Kalitta set a new track ET record of 3.646 seconds.

They literally would not be able to run a 1/4 mile today at most of the tracks.
They’d need like 4 chutes and some sort of reverse flaps!
As you know, most of the tracks have property line issues that prevent shut down area extensions.

Even more chute would be tough, the decel G's are where the driver really have problems accel G's are minor in comparison.

… Isn’t that how Garlits got his retina detached from the decel forces of the parachutes?… I know when I drove …when the schute fully deployed it would lift the back of the car up🤷🏽‍♀️

They’d definitely have to be deployed in stages.
But it’s irrelevant, it’ll never happen.
F1 crash telemetry G force readings are astronomical at times.
Last year Max Verstappen hit the barrier at 180 mph and his telemetry recorded a deceleration G Force of 51G

Of course, that’s not repetitive.
5 Gs is typical in high speed cornering.
(My head would fly off and land in the next time zone…😂)

Takuma Sato did a tank slapper in Turn 1 at Indy on Thursday. Peak was 94 Gs. He climbed out and walked to the med van, and while he was sore yesterday, he's OK.
