Being on steroids for the last two years I was up to almost 200 pounds. As I was able to taper off the meds, I was able to lose a little bit. But the true weight loss came when I got the Norovirus. Fuck that was brutal. I was at a customer location in LA when it started. I ended up not being able to eat for about a week and then I was only eating small meals after that for another couple of weeks. Got down to 170 which is about where I am at now.

By steroids you mean a TRT treatment, or some other version? Hopefully, that was a healthy weight gain initially.

Since January I’m down to 190 from 227, but I seem have plateaued out. I’ve been sitting here for almost 3 weeks - I seem float around 188-191. Again, not bad from where I started and this all done by changing my diet. No exercise other than waking about a mile and half to 2 miles a day on the job site.

Holy shit. 37 lbs. in 4 months. That is outstanding if all you had to do was change a diet. I'm assuming you cut out a bunch of excess.

I’ve basically cut out as many carbs as possible, no sugar, no tortillas, no breads, no rice, no beans, no chips, basically cutting out all grains. Pretty much no Mexican food other than chili relleños or machaca. No juices, but I do have an orange for dessert every night. No cakes, pies, cookies, or ice cream. I have come to really enjoy baked shredded spaghetti squash with marinara sauce with Italian sausage chunks. Lots of salads with meats like Sams Club roasted chicken, sliced cappacola, leftover steak or tritip with bacon bits, cheese cubes.

It was tough the first couple of weeks, I was always hungry, missing my ice cream, pasta, potatoes, chips for the salsa and guacamole.
I did discover that spicy guac is good with tritip and pork butt chunks.

300lbs to 230lbs by fasting and keto. Fuck gallstones. Seed oils bad.

Started in May 2023.
I’m 6’5” and was 300lbs.

Was doing one meal a day and a 2 day fast once a month. Didn’t change what I was eating, still all your typical garbage/sweets/carbs. No exercise and dropped 50lbs before the end of 2023.

February 2024 ended up in the hospital with a gallstone stuck in a duct. Worst pain I’ve ever had. They also said I had a fatty liver and a polyp inside the gallbladder. After that I decided to clean up the eating. I would get gallbladder pains when I didn’t eat so I switched to 2ish meals a day. I’ve been mainly keto and would do a small snack at lunch - usually some kind of clean jerky, pistachios, or mustard fried patties from In N Out and a small to average sized dinner - steak, chicken, sausage and peppers etc. I try to do whole foods as much as possible and I avoid seed oils like the plague.

Today I float around 230-240. My only exercise is 40 pushups 3-4x a week and some occasional digging or climbing reservoirs at work.

I’m still battling with gallbladder issues and trying to avoid surgery at all costs. My latest ultrasound came back yesterday with 0 fatty liver, gallbladder polyp has shrunk 40% and 0 inflammation of the gallbladder, although there are still stones present.

TLDR:
300lbs to 230lbs by fasting and keto. Fuck gallstones. Seed oils bad.

I’m on a strict high protein diet with portion control. Also on tirzepatide. Been doing this since 8/15/24. 325 SW, 245 CW, 230 GW. I’m 6’4”. Feel great, been going to the gym 3 times per week for last 3 months. Cut drinking WAY back. Also on Cypionate Test every other week injections 150mg. Test went from 250 to 790, this helps with motivation and other things ;)

Still cheat on my vacations but don’t have desire to drink and eat nearly as much as I used to.

All about lifestyle changes. I plan on indefinitely and so far been on track 9 months.

I’ve hit a wall at 190, maybe I need to cut out my oranges?

My local Orthopedic guy is a "rock star" , 2 knees and a Hip if your interested DM me for his contact
MFSOB it hurts - shooting pain from ass cheek to ankle.
Wife just gave me a hot load of some concoction so I can mow the lawn.

Deferring any surgery until all my stroke appts are over.

I think the wife wants me to retain my robust appearance. I tell her that I'm trying to lose a few lbs. and she immediately decides that she is going to start doing most of the cooking. Everything she cooks is off the charts high in carbs, starches and sugars. She also decided that we need deserts evert night, lemon bars, peanut butter fudge, chocolate rice crispy balls and cakes. I give up.

Jumped on the scale at 270 last week. I think this is big enough. Time to start cutting. Everybody’s talking about how much weight they’ve lost but I’ve only gone in the other direction.
