Well I’m not usually a play fan. Let alone musicals
But I have to say I’m excited for this
My wife just got us tickets for my Bday at the Pantages
I grew up with his music in the house as my parents were huge fans. They are actually pictured in the crowd ( 3rd row) of the album cover for “hot august nights” from the Greek theatre
Any other old people a fan. 🙄😅

That's awesome! I thought they ended that show. I'm sure it will be a blast and a huge sing-along. Especially Sweet Caroline...bah bah bah.

For sure I will be getting tics tomorrow for the Segestrom shows, thanks!

Huge Neil Diamond fan here too. In fact if I wasn't so lazy, I would find the vinyl repress of Hot August Nights I bought a few months back. The Jazz Singer is a good flic for those who have never seen it, too.

Your wife did good Mr C!

Well now...I bought my parents tickets to see him in '94 for their 30th anniversary. Not really my style, always thought he looked like a more glam David Copperfield 🤣

Enjoy him but not a huge fan. Wife loves him. mom used to. I’ve seen him in concert once. Good time. Friend of mine used to be in charge of percussion for him.
Said he was a cool guy. They used to ride Harleys together. My buddy had a turbo Shiada called Summer Hummer.

My family are huge fans, I burn't thru 2 or 3 of the Hot August Nights cassette tapes, started as a kid with the 8 track on every time we were going camping. My Dad also is looking at getting us tickets, think we are going to try out the Costa Mesa venue. Looking forward to what you think of it.

MY Dad and Stepmother loved Neil Diamond. Been to two of his concerts, both times at the Greek.

If I hear his music playing I generally stop and listen.

Seems to me to only Album I ever purchased was The Jazz Singer spurred on by seeing the movie.

My parents would have him playing and ccr and others on the turntable /tv/ radio console when company was over.
We go in July I think
I’ll definitely give my input.

Done! Thanks Mr C for the heads-up!

And I also signed up for an alert when Phantom of the Opera tics go on sale. I was so pumped last week when I heard they revived the show.

Another great musical is Jersey Boys. I expect the Neil Diamond show to be similar.

We've seen Phantom 6 times, JCS 3X (once with Sebastian Bach from Skidrow), Cats 2X, Joseph, Starlight, and Sunset. the only shows we have not seen are Evita and School of Rock (which I never realized was a Lloyd-Weber show).

Years ago I went to the admin offices at the Forum and they had a plaque with Neil Diamond's name on it, saying he held the record for the most sold-out shows in a row. 9 straight nights.

I don't know if that records still stands, but it was impressive.
