My FIL lives in an ADU next to us, he’s 85 and doesn’t have many things that he still does or feels like gives him purpose, but mowing our small lawns is one of them. That said, it’s getting to the point where pull starting the gasser is getting to be a struggle so I’m looking to replace the gasser with a battery unit so he can keep going with the struggle. The Milwaukee one is 3 times the price, so I’m looking at alternatives. Anyone ripping one of these?

Total area is about 1600sqft to mow.

My son has one and his lawn is a little less that yours, but it seems to do the job and he is happy with it

There are a bunch of these in use in town. Mostly for the retirees' track homes. They sit all winter, and are ready to go in spring. Most have small back yards, 1000sqft or so. Honestly, I have not seen one Milwaukee. I don't have any first hand knowledge, but there are a bunch of them out here

I got the same one for my yard, about 1200 SQ Ft lawn
I’m able to use it 3-4 Times before having to recharge it. Enough power to cut nicely, I’d do it again vs my old gasser. Just make sure to unconnected the battery when not in use and the nice thing the battery has a charge meter to know when it’s low. 1 bar and time to recharge

Just purchased one. So far very pleased. Great that it folds and can be stored vertically.

Son in law (and daughter) gets first home with grass.
Phoenix.
Maybe 300 sq. ft. of grass.
SIL gets a McClain. Front throw, reel mower. Bad ass mower, for a season.
2019 on, has a Ryobi unit.
McClain looks sweet next to Harley in the garage.

I've been using that one for a few years on my 1000 sqft of grass. I use it once per week and it gets the job done, no issues so far. I can mow my grass 3-4 times before I need to charge the battery, but I have a few batteries that I keep charged in case I need to swap out.

If you have an old gas mower, check with aqmd or your local air quality nazis for a rebate if you turn in your evil gas mower.
I got 2 hundy for a 5 dollar yard sale find.

Just like cash 4 clunkers....that's why every used POS gas mower is $300 now, when you used to be able to pick one up for $50...clean out the carb and run it for 10+ years

I went 18v because ryobi has some inexpensive tools so I can dual purpose the batteries. I do have dewalt and mileaukee, but some one time need stuff is 1/3 the price.

What do you have for cordless tools? Both Dewalt and Milwaukee have cordless mowers
