Are you using an old email client like Outlook on your PC?

Many of the email providers are dropping support for the outdated authentication systems used in these old programs, You have to update to newer software that has Oauth Support.

Or just go to Yahoo.com in your browser and use that to do your email.

Thanks … I have had Yahoo email since 2004 and I’m pretty sure this is the first time that this has happened…
… Went on YouTube and tried everything. the guy in the video said… None of that applied…
… I thought for a bit that because I had changed credit cards that made auto pay to Apple that that might have something to do with it… Apple tells me not the case,..

… I haven’t used my laptop in quite a few years… All my emailing has been done on my iPhone only…So🤷🏽‍♀️

So what happens when you log into "Yahoo.com" using a web browser?

A friend uses yahoo mail on her iPhone so I know it still works for some... I'm assuming she has an app.

I just logged into Yahoo.com to access an email I have not used in years. I typed in my user name and Yahoo texted me a code.

… apparently I can’t remember my yahoo password… So now I can’t get into yahoo.com…🤷🏽‍♀️

… Neighbor girl suggested that I start deleting emails… since there are like 7000 of them that I didn’t delete… I’m going to give that a shot…

7,000 emails to delete?

It sounds like you can get into your Yahoo email?

Or click on the "forgot my password" link on the Yahoo.com page to get in.

.., This is going to take a very long time… I am now down to 5000 left that I have to delete… I remember doing this when I was in the hospital… Neighbor girl showed me how to delete emails… These are not all I received in the past two years but apparently I saved a good bunch of them… and why I saved them… It must’ve made have seemed like a good idea at the time at the time, but it certainly doesn’t now…😳… I most likely will have to create a new password to get into yahoo.com… maybe… still trying to figure this whole mess out🤷🏽‍♀️… any help would still be appreciated…

There should be a delete all tab so you dont have to do it one at a time. 🤔

Try this:

Go to Settings on your iPhone. Scroll down to Apps and open that, scroll down to Mail App and open that. Click on Mail Accounts. Click on Yahoo! and see if you can log into your account. If you don’t remember your password that’s fine, just hit the forgot password tab and reset it.

Hope this helps you out.

… I will give that a shot… I’m not completely sure… But the top of my inbox page I think used to have …All as one option and then another option to the right of that…Well, if that’s true if it did used to have those two options …they’re not there anymore…🤷🏽‍♀️…Someting may be fishy here…

Why delete them? I'm looking at 72K UNREAD emails, sans the emails I opened which is easily twice that number. I have emails dating back to 2009. Wifey has over 122K unread emails.

Some people are obsessed with deleting emails, for no good reason. Few people reach the storage quota offered to them by their provider. See if you're out of storage space. If you are, then deleting emails to free-up storage space is appropriate.

Storage space is mostly used when you receive photos. So if you're gonna delete them , then sort them by size and delete the largest emails first. For example, one email with 4 photos may take up 25MB. Yet, 200-300 regular emails may not take up the same amount of 25MB of space.

And, deleting emails is not your issue. Your issue is authentication.

I found this....and I assure you, you will not be on this planet long enough to use 5TB of info. Neither will I, and I'm probably 25 years than you are...

Yahoo Mail's basic email service is free to use. However, Yahoo offers an optional premium plan called Yahoo Mail Plus for $5 per month. This plan provides an ad-free experience, 5 TB of storage, and additional features.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Free Yahoo Mail: Offers standard email functionality.

  • Yahoo Mail Plus: A paid subscription for $5 per month that includes:
    • Ad-free email experience.

    • 5 TB of storage.

    • Additional features and customization options.

That made me curious.

In 20 years I have used 4 gigabytes of my free 15 gigs of storage with Google, including pictures and files.

"Free Yahoo Mail accounts come with 1 Terabyte (1000 GB) of storage for emails and attachments. This is significantly more storage than free Gmail accounts, which offer 15 GB shared with other Google services."

How old is you phone? If they did a software update your phone may not support the new email software. You will either need to update your software on your phone or get a new phone. Just went through this a week ago on my 10+yo phone. Ended up just getting a new phone. Everything works fine now. Just a thought.

… I think I got it… Was on the phone for about an hour with a lady from Apple… She talked too fast but I did my best to follow her… And did end up getting my emails back… I now get my emails off of a Yahoo app… Instead of the regular mail app that I had always used… But I can still get my Gmail from the original mail app… I still have a little more thinking to do on this situation🤷🏽‍♀️… but I think I’m going to go hobble around the block first🔍

Glad you got it fixed. Boomers and technology is always a challenge…
… You got that right…
…Just got a call from my friend who taught me how to use a computer computer maybe 2002 or 2003… He was a Mac guy… so I learned that the simplistic way of doing things..
… had to learn the Bill Gates way later…
… not sure if my friend was at his compound in Guatemala or his home in Tucson… but when I told him the story of what had been going on with my emails… It sounded like at the age of 82. He’s not the computer wizard that he once was.???…🤷🏽‍♀️

Fixed it for ya. 👍🏼
… And speaking of Android stuff… The Judge was over the other day in dire straights… His relatively new Android phone had ceased to be friendly to him… Had to call @NEIGHBOR GIRL over to straighten out his mess… don’t know what we would do without her. She has just started helping him sell off his 27 car collection… He’s got some nice stuff...
… The technical lady for the android phone asked him his pin number… The Judge had no idea what his pin number was… Not even sure he knows what a pin number is… he is a fairly recent convert from a flip phone…🤷🏽‍♀️

… The Judge really needed @NEIGHBOR GIRL to assist him in speaking with Verizon I guess it was …for his android phone... She offered to come over and help me with my Email issue,…but I really wanted to see if I could get my issues straightened out myself…as @NEIGHBOR GIRL has a 24/7 job with her 9 month old…

… Last night I decided to come up with a job title for @NEIGHBOR GIRL…And that is Executive Secretary to three old dudes with whom the simplest tasks have become very difficult…One used to own a Toyota dealership… The second was a superior court judge/attorney and the third is me… I’m not too sure what I used to do but it sure was fun🤷🏽‍♀️
… Unfortunately there may be a fourth who’s affairs she may have to help get into as he has dementia and is in a full healthcare facility… A whole lot of confusion as to how he ended up there…Long story…I may have to start a thread to get advice for him… He was without a doubt, the best diagnostic mechanic I have ever known… He built his own very large ranch home… He was a could do it all guy… Now he doesn’t even really know where he is… And Neighbor girl knows him …So🤷🏽‍♀️

@NEIGHBOR GIRL Consulting.

Has a nice ring to it! 100 00 an hour sound about right? 🤔😁
… lol… I think you nailed it… She is not quite getting $100 an hour for listing his collector cars for sale… But she will be well taken care of as they sell… when I croak… She, baby daddy and the nine month old will have their very own home …some boats …some cars trucks and trailers… And a very nice piece of property at Lake Oroville…@NEIGHBOR GIRL could have been a very good attorney… but life circumstance didn’t let her go in that direction… but man, she thinks like one🤷🏽‍♀️…:
