Not from the mold....but a new boat...also not a performance boat but our family cruiser to replace the Malibu that was totaled...When we had to get another boat everyone said Pontoon!.. I don't see myself in a pontoon. They are nice for lake when you are day boating and have to load a bunch of stuff up and be on the water all day. We are on the river and leave the boat in the dock so we just need room for people. I also want a boat I can launch, dock and park in a slip with a current single handed...meaning I don't need help. This boat fit the bill...traditional V front and not much bigger than the last boat. The technology on these boats is absolutely crazy. Our Malibu was a 2004 and gains since then are just crazy... Touch screen, profiles that are customizable that control tabs/ballast/stereo everything by a single touch. Just took delivery in Parker yesterday and will make the maiden voyage Labor Day.... Most of these boats are going upscale with interior combos to look like high end cars...When we saw this boat it reminded me of Bentley and the high tech cool feel interior is crazy how it is not blazing in the sun... Some of the options:

  • ILMOR 5500 GDI VD 1.57
  • Coolfeel Coconut Brown Interior
  • BTS Windshield
  • Bimini w/ Surf Sleeves
  • Gen 2 Surf System with S2S Switching
  • ZFT 4 Tower
  • 2 S80 Black Klipsh Tower Speaker Cans
  • Tower Swivel Go Pro Holder
  • Dome Light
  • Docking Lights
  • Premium Audio and Dual Screen Package
  • Rear View Rider Cam
  • Blue Speaker Light Rings
  • Stereo Transom Remote
  • Heater
  • Removable Ski Pylon
  • Blue Underwater Lighting
  • Heated Seats (OBS and Helm)
  • Billet Walk Through Door
  • Bow Filler Cushion
  • Cordova Cooler Upgrade
  • Convertible Center R/S Seat
  • Starboard Pop Up Seatback
  • Sunpad Flip Seating
  • Transom Walkthrough
  • Tandem Trailer - 18" Black Wheels/W LED Lighting

Pics coming next...

MasterCraft Suggested Retail Price: $184,515.00

I drive past the HB Location all the time when I ski Marine Stadium. I did not even notice Rainbow Marine went out of business!
LOL..Power of the internet...

We did not pay retail nor the listed sale price......best time to buy a boat like a car is when the new models come out. This was a new 2018...and they are getting 2020's...so they are able to go back to Mastercraft and get deeper discounts which helps there flooring credit line so they don't sell a boat for a loss. Also does not help recent earnings for them and other large manufactures took a hit so they are aggressive. Have to imagine if you price this boat as 2020 it is priced at MSRP near 200k.. They are a great dealer to work with.

Looking at the engine options for your model did you feel the 5.3 GM 5500 had enough HP for the size of your boat when you demoed at Lake Elsinore (looks like Elsinore from your pics)?

Ilmor's GM Based 5.7 was the highest performance GM 5.7 engine from any manufacturer when tested by CARB and produced 320 HP. PCM was claiming 343 HP from an engine that only produced 282 when tested by CARB. Indmar's 5.7 Engines produced between 288 and 308 HP but as much as 350 HP was claimed.

Good info about claimed HP.... Ilmor also the best!

We had the indmar 383 hammerhead in the Malibu which was supposed 380hp...this boat is approx 1500 lbs more and supposedly less hp... it was just as responsive as the Malibu. I was worried about the 5500 and not having the 6000 but after loading it full of ballast with surf tabs (in a safe quite space:)) on it was able to handle without issue ...
