Feb.25th, 1980 Bob Seger, released his only Album to reach"Billboard's Top LP Chart" to #1. To get there he had to "Knock Off" Pink Floyd's "The Wall" out of the Top Spot. The "Eagles" Glenn Frey and Don Henley, joined Segar on the "Vocals"

I am a music junkie. The list of bands I've seen in my 67 years would consume most of the bandwidth on this site. It started as a 9 year old kid seeing Sky Saxon & the Seeds playing live in a White Front parking lot in Torrance in 1965. First date with my wife of 43 years was a Linda Ronstadt concert at the Forum in 1978.

My biggest regret is that I never got to see Bob Seger. Just was never in the right place at the right time. Definitely one of the best. Referencing "Against the Wind", above, Timothy B. Schmit (Eagles) also provided back-up vocals on "Fire Lake" along with Frey and Henley. Little known fact is that Glenn Frey and Bob Seger were close friends and roommates in Detroit as starving young musicians.

Alan, I've seen Bob a few times beginning in 1980 while living in the Midwest with the last show a couple of years ago in San Diego. At that one he had to sit down for a song after standing for the previous song. He attempted to jump but only got one foot off the ground. The show however was two hours and his voice was still great. Alto Reed (RIP) was amazing at that show playing multiple instruments and having almost as much lead time on stage as Bob.

Got to see him a couple times in Charlevoix. Back in the 80’s he hung out in Boyne City. He liked the Sportsman Bar. If you ever hung in Boyne, you knew Jelly Rolls Blue Band.

Against The Wind

Bob Seger

It seems like yesterday
But it was long ago
Janey was lovely she was the queen of my nights
There in the darkness with the radio playing low, and
And the secrets that we shared
The mountains that we moved
Caught like a wildfire out of control
'Til there was nothing left to burn and nothing left to prove
And I remember what she said to me
How she swore that it never would end
I remember how she held me oh-so-tight
Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then
Against the wind
We were runnin' against the wind
We were young and strong, we were runnin' against the wind
The years rolled slowly past
And I found myself alone
Surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends
I found myself further and further from my home, and I
Guess I lost my way
There were oh-so-many roads
I was living to run and running to live
Never worried about paying or even how much I owed
Moving eight miles a minute for months at a time
Breaking all of the rules that would bend
I began to find myself searching
Searching for shelter again and again
Against the wind
A little something against the wind
I found myself seeking shelter against the wind
Well those drifter's days are past me now
I've got so much more to think about
Deadlines and commitments
What to leave in, what to leave out
Against the wind
I'm still runnin' against the wind
I'm older now but still runnin' against the wind
Well I'm older now and still runnin'
Against the wind
Against the wind
Against the wind
Still runnin' (against the wind)
I'm still runnin' against the wind
(Against the wind) I'm still runnin'
(Against the wind)
I'm still runnin' against the wind
(Against the wind) still runnin'
(Against the wind)runnin' against the wind, runnin' against the wind
(Against the wind) see the young man run
(Against the wind) watch the young man run
(Against the wind) watch the young man runnin'
(Against the wind) he'll be runnin' against the wind
(Against the wind) let the cowboys ride
(Against the wind) aah
(Against the wind) let the cowboys ride
(Against the wind) they'll be ridin' against the wind
(Against the wind) against the wind
(Against the wind) ridin' against the wind...

First date with my wife of 43 years was a Linda Ronstadt concert at the Forum in 1978.
First Concert ever with my bride to be was Cal Poly circa 1975 Linda Ronstadt with Jackson Brown , Linda was in a leg cast from some sort of accident , so she sat on a barstool for her set ... She still rocked I have every LP she ever made (that I know of)

I ran across an Old Video of her with the "Stone Poney's" playing "Different Drum" :)

Oh!! Look, "Kachina Vagina" is here again begging for Attention. Mommy kicked him out of the basement and he begs for whatever he can get, wherever he/she can get it.

There's no doubt, help is needed here, but not the DYI "Nutcases.com" cheap Shit. This is a job for a professional, that can perform "Shock Treatment" etc.

Now run along, "Squeaky" and change your Diaper or RAG? You are "Stinking" up the place.🚽

Just because you have "No Clue" who the "Silver Bullet Band" is that's no reason to be all embarrassed and try to Save Face by attempting Insults here. "Google" is

your Friend, (Your Only Friend) try it, before Posting in Online Forums. I sure Can't hurt.;)

In 1976, my dad, who was a Highway Patrolman, got me a job at a tire shop/truck stop in Carlsbad called Stoney’s Tire Service. For you North County guys, it was at Interstate 5 and Palomar Airport Road where McDonalds is now.
So one Saturday morning a converted Greyhound bus pulls in for fuel.
As it’s filling up, I go around and “thump” all the tires to check for flats. Sure enough one of the inside duels is flat.
I tell the driver and he says they are driving straight through to Sacramento and asks if I can fix it.
I tell him sure and to pull over to the other bay under the canopy and I’ll get on it.
So he gets it over there and I get a Jack under it and 7 or so guys pile out of the bus start smoking and throwing a frisbee around.
After breaking the tire off the rim I get it on the spreader and start patching it.
All of sudden a guy sticks his head in and says, “oh that’s how ya do that!”.
I ask him so are you guys a band or something?
He says yeah they just played at the Sports Arena last night.
I say oh, what’s the name of the band and he points at the destination sign on the front of the bus, like they used to have, and it says “Night Moves”.
I tell him I don’t know that song and he kinda chuckled and said I’m Bob Segar.
I still didn’t know who he was!
Any way, we had a great conversation about Carlsbad and what sports and stuff I played.
He hung with me until I got the wheel back on.
Threw me a tshirt on the way out and off they went.
Told the kids at school on Monday and they could believe I didn’t know who he was!
Good times!

Back in 1976 my "Night Moves" consisted of a loaded diaper...ironically some were also "Like a Rock"😁

I got to see Bob Seger live a few years ago in Phoenix. Jumped to #2 all time concerts. They only show to top it was the Eagles original Hell Freezes Over tour in 94.

Bob Seeger grew in SE Michigan. My family had a cottage on Devils Lake and as kids in 1967 or 1968 Bob and his band played at the outdoor band shell. My family anchored our boat offshore along with many others and listened to the show. In the early 1970's he played at a converted firehouse in Toledo that my older sister attended and she just loved Bob. Over the years I have seen him perform 5 times, always loved his music and being a Midwest kid can really relate.
2018 built a new house and was time to have ceramic tile installed. Found a highly recommended installer and hired him. As the job was wrapping up stopped at site and was talking with him. Said he had to wrap up my job because he was hired by Bob Seeger to do a large install at his house next!
Kind of cool!

There was so much good music in the 70's and 80's trying to hit every show could send you to the poor house especially if taking a date. Never saw Seeger but at least I appreciate and have his music...

February 19th, 2015. Still had this on my phone but it took me a few days to remember to put it on YouTube.

Try not to get sea sick. Lol I had a few beverages and love me some Bob Seger.

I saw the Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, Against the Wind tour at McKale Stadium in Tucson AZ. Sold out!
It was my 16th birthday and I was tripping on shrooms. Hotties everywhere!
Magical does not even come close too describing the experience.
Love BS&SBB! ❤❤❤

…He lived a couple of blocks from a friend of mine Douglas Fontaine Brown in Detroit… Was a bit younger… Fontaine gave him his start playing keyboards for him in Doug Brown and the Omens…
