i know this is a stupid question but here goes, there are two Algon prop shaft releases on e-bay right now and someone asked a seller right hand or left hand rotation which stopped me from bidding till i knew for sure, the boat is stripped and out having a stringer replaced so how do i know for sure?driving off the flywheel to an old toploader box.this looks like the best alternative to a whirlaway which isn't available for my gearbox, any old school racers out there that have used the Algon and would like to share their experiences?i really want one but know nothing about them,my biggest concern would be a failure and would it just freewheel or could it lock up?gonna start putting things back together next week and this is on the list, thanks

The Algon is nothing but a sprag cluch and works good, the thing is they are not sealed and water can get into them, so they need to be taken apart often to check them because just like wheel bearings if they get wet and start to gall that's it done and that will cause it to lock up!. So, if you decide to get it make sure you take it apart and check it good before you use it!...

Still have to be careful though water can still get past the grease, waterproof means that water won't mix and dilute the grease!....

Looks like he's doing a good job, nice looking Nailhead!..

Street rod huh, what's he building an old Merc???..

It's a '37 Chevy being done Westerguard style. Here it is as my tow rig last year. Like Kenny said, I'm doing the boat to match the colors the car will eventually be...dark maroon/white/gold. Oh yea, and a Nailhead to match also.

Thanks Kenny.
I was going to ask you to grab me a cold one, but you were doing such a good job I didn't want to bother you. Hey, I've got some emails I need filed when you have a chance! haha

The boat should be in paint by this weekend, stop by if they let you out of the basement and you're in the neighborhood. God I hate bodywork!!
