mcmaster carr is good and i think their site is leaps and bounds better than grainger, but pricing can be higher than terridactyl tits. but you will have it next day 99% of time. depending on what you are trying to source it might be better to straight to the manufacture.

What were you buying at grainger? That would help us point you in the right direction

Zoro is grainger, with a limited catalog and lower prices.
McMaster-Carr is amazing, just no brand names you can search.
MSC is good for metalworking supplies, but not cheap.

I like MSC a lot. They have great metal stuff and shop stuff.

McMaster is good selection but tools can be cheap quality

Amazon is turning a leaf in this market too

I deal with Grainger a lot due to city contracts, grant funding, and “Maverick” spending limits. You need to get the right account rep and cost breaks, or the prices are unsustainable at Grainger. That’s pretty much no help to this thread. Yore welcome.

MSC works if you are in a jam, but compare pricing, 90% of the time they are HIGH.

Depends on what you are looking for. Ill use Motion Industries for bearings, pulleys, sprockets and other power transmission items. McMaster Carr for almost anything. Like said above, you get the items over night. Small electrical items for controls, I have been using Automation Direct, if you have time to wait. Used MSC for a few metal working items.

Over all though, McMaster Carr has such a crazy selection that delivers fast.

These past two years, whoever has the parts on the shelf. I don't do any "production" stuff. Everything I deal with is "need it fixed yesterday" crap...so usually pricing for parts is secondary...as is quality at times.

I spit out my drink. 🤣🤣

IDK what OP orders but Amazon is actually not bad for hardware stuff... I buy a couple of cabinet parts in bulk from them and no one touches the price.

Mc Master Hands down, we order weekly , sometimes daily

We have and still use them time to time. . . their shipping costs are starting to get on our nerves. We had free shipping with Grainger. I should reach out to McMaster and see if they would give us free shipping.

Need to get a sales rep involved...nobody pays MSC's website pricing. I hate them because of that....I want to look at things and see what they cost, not email my acct rep to get pricing on everything I'm looking at.

McMaster kicks ass.

For hardware MC is hard to beat.
For appliance parts Johnston Supply has a good catalog

Never really been a fan of Grainger.

McMaster wont do free shipping, but if you have UPS account they can put it on file and use it if your rates are better. i order from McMaster pretty regularly for some of my customers and i have compared shipping rates and theirs are usually 1-2$ higher than my rate, which is pretty good. MSC is out of their mind on shipping charges, along with Airgas, and Grainger.

Zoro offers free shipping on orders over $50.

I do not use McMaster for hardware for business sense. I use it for personal but for business is way way way over priced

Grainger is literally double retail. They are for the corporate accounts that don't look at the cost, only the convience.

If you spend that much per week you need and deserve an account rep from Grainger and/or MSC to give you discounts.

the problem, with MSC especially, you have to have the account rep quote it. atleast from my understanding.

I can totally understand why you closed your account with Grainger.
