The only "Cracker" I'm familiar with is a Florida Cracker. It originated as a term used to identify South Florida Cattleman.....due to the loud "Crack" sound made by the whip when herding cattle. It did not originate as a term used to refer to Southern Plantation owners. Other folks were instrumental in changing the meaning of the term which is now viewed as racist.
