I looked into a chiller and spoke with local large pool builder and they said in Phoenix they're only good for 2-3 degree reductions with our crazy heat here.

Yes in the app I can do it.

My issue is that my pool Cool setting is set to 100 and think I believe it needs to changed on the panel.

I have one thats 5ish years old.
If you select a temp 3 degrees below current water temp it goes into cool mode.

Everything you do on outdoor panel can be done on indoor panel and or phone
on the ap to adjust temp you should just drag finger over the temp setting and move to desired heat/cool set points. And done

unless in settings you removed ultra temp and defaulted to master temp / heater

edit: if you only have ap base on phone or tablet for control only then there’s another ap you can download for programming.
otherwise on outdoor panel, see above

Question-

Do the chillers work ? What type of temperature cooling would you see in say Havasu? Can you set a temp range say 80-88 and keep it there

How are they powered propane / electric?

They are electric, yes they work. in extreme heat its not going to freeze the water as air and ground temps are constantly fighting the cool water temps.
They work just like an AC but like with the door open, lol

they also make commercial chillers that will get water temps just above freezing. Doubt they’d be that efficient in havasu either. We built a project in walnut, that had lap pool, separate play pool ( both at a constant 89 ) normal hot spa (always heated to 104) and a cold spa ( always chilled to 38 ) all year round. plus a big ass red wood sauna. For their Olympic chinese kids that don’t swim 😂🤣

We've had the Pentair Ultra Temp since the pool was new 7 years ago. It keeps the pool at 86-88 with no problems at all. Just make sure you keep a supply of capacitors handy as the Havasu heat likes to kill them' I've have put about 3 or 4 new ones on it. Super easy and cheap if one doesn't buy them from the pool store. Last one the wife changed out in about 15 minutes. Our pool is 9300 gallons and only 5 ft deep but can get hot in about 3 days if the chiller isn't on. The heat work good also. It is powered by electric and it really isn't that bad on the power bill. We refuse to get into a pool with soup temp water. I put the largest one in the system, I think140, Two degrees an hour is what ours will cool.

Wow that’s good info!

Thank You!

84-88 is a great temp to relax and have a cold drink, maybe watch a game on TV!

I'm thinking this was the case when they set it up. When the water is say 92 and I set to 88 it just keeps flipping off because the set point is at 100 and that can't be change ( to my knowledge ) on the app. I don't have an indoor panel , just the app and a little box that is hooked to my router.

I will play with it today and see.

Thank you !

Ha ha ha, I've been through this. I feel your pain. I've spent hours with this crap.

It's a glitch in the screen logic software. They refuse to make a software change to combat the problem. I've talked to Pentair and gone on some of the message board forums.

Basically you have to change the settings using the SLConfig App to get the chiller to work, then to get your heater to work you have to change the settings in the SLConfig back. Total PITA.

It's a different APP than the screenlogic.

Send me a PM and I can walk you through it.

Yes, let me guess you set it at the cool temp you want and nothing happens, and then it just kicks back to 100 plus degrees on the cool setting next time you open the app

Some info in this thread

You would run them all night to get the desired results. I can cool my pool by about 5-6 degrees overnight if needed. When it's hot and humid and cloud cover overnight it's 2-3 degrees.
