This is where you get an email from the USPS about 9am every morning with a picture of your mail expected to be delivered that day or "soon". It's a free service. Most of the time it shows up that day. I've been getting a lot of pictures of my mail lately that NEVER shows up. Credit Card statements, Christmas Cards, junk mail....I get the pics but then the mail never shows up. You can go on the Post Office website and check the box that you never received the mail but nothing happens. My mail is delivered to a locked mail box. If there is a pic of the mail It should be "SOMEWHERE". If it's mis-delivered, I would think the recipient would at least put it back in the out going mail so that I eventually get it. but I NEVER do. The only thing I can figure is 2 things: 1. people that get my mail are too fucking lazy to send it back out, 2. the mail delivery person is too fucking lazy to get it right. FUCK!!! I ALWAYS SEND MAIL BACK OUT THAT'S NOT MINE WHICH IS RARELY.

For the most part, I have had a fairly good opinion of the post office over the years even though I know that they are a quasi-government shit show, their system is outdated, some of their drivers are JACKHOLES and they have no fucking idea how to manage their retirement plan for the employees (which is one of their financial black holes).

The US POSTAL SERVICE should be the authority on delivering shit anywhere, any time. But they're not. They make billions from postage, billions more from taxpayers and they're just another government drain on the taxpayer tit. No wonder UPS and FEDEX make money.

The post office has this disclaimer when you check the box.
By checking this box, you are indicating you did not receive the physical mailpiece represented by the image. The information you provide may be disclosed with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service or USPS Office of Inspector General (OIG) for law enforcement and investigative purposes.

OK RANT OFF.

I use it and hate it.
Tried to use the hold mail feature and my local PO never got the notice.
came home to 4 weeks worth of mail in pile next door

It has been fairly accurate for us, no real discrepancies.

Yup I have it. And it shows me how much shit is really lost. The only good thing is that I now KNOW it was lost and can tell a client to resend a check etc.

Its pretty scary how much shit never shows up. And I am talking envelope mail mainly. Seems like anything sent Amazon or shipped in a box makes it thru.

We've used the hold feature successfully.
We used to double up with a sticky note in the box with a capital VH written on it.

My wife has it and we get what the email says......altho recently it can be a day or so off. Our local postmaster has issued a statement that they are having delivery problems due to Covid and a lot of mail. The time of day we receive our mail also has varied more over the last month or so. Our carrier of many years retired, which may impact this. My wife talked to one of the mail folk a while back and he was from a different area and up to help, especially with all the package deliveries. I am sure they are getting overwhelmed by Christmas on-line deliveries vs in-store shopping.

Must depend on the carrier. I've used the service since it became available and I've only had one piece of mail, a check from a client, show up a day late. Of course I assumed it was stolen or lost and called the client who put a hold on the check yadda yadda yadda, only to see it arrive the following day.

Given the alternative of nothing, I think it's a great service.

A couple of years back I thought a community mailbox was safer - until it was destroyed and the Postmaster said "what do you want us to do about it...pound sand."

Last week somebody dumped these off...

I have it and it works ok down here in the Keys which is saying something because most deliveries down here you would think we are a 3rd world country. ;)

We use the hold mail feature all the time and have never experienced any problems with the service.

That being said, I'm still waiting for a packaged that was shipped from Ca to Pa for nearly 2 weeks now:mad:

I have a different type of problem, mail CC payments and 10 days later get a late notice, call them up no check cashed, OK phone transfer, stop payment on checks. Done no! 30 days later the check shows up the try to cash now they charge me a $35.00 returned check fee!!!
Fast forward to today finally got them to remove that. Next up DMV has not cashed the renewal check for the Wife’s car🤬, they cashed the check for the other car I sent in the same day. Three hours waiting for a call back, oh give it a couple of more weeks, we are way behind, online site shows they are already added $80.00 to the renewal 🤬🤬🤬

We’ll so much for that...no mail delivery for the past 2 days. I live in a regular residential tract. I’m guessing our carrier got covid.

We used to have fairly reliable carriers. And then felt like our route had become a “training route”.

and since this past year, covid as well, we get mail on any of the days of the week. Quite common to get letter mail on a Sunday night after 9:40 —10 pm.

that’s the stuff I’m pissed off aboit now.. the carriers deliver so late, more often than not I’ll find mail in the box at 5am or earlier letting out my pup to pee. So that mail could have easily been stolen during the night..

long story short, I have serious reservations that there are any “informed-deliveries” these days..

I have it for the OC home and the LHC Home. LHC = Had TAGS coming for a car....no show.... reorder after a week of it not showing up... MVD mailed a second set...... shows it is being delivered (Hint - it gets photographed in VEGAS) and another no show.... week later I went to the LHC post Office and they told me "Sorry" a lot of people are complaining about registration and tags not showing up. Requested tags again... Paid $5.40 for new tags this time they made it. I suggested to the MVD that putting MVD and TAGS ENCLOSED on the outside of the envelope is STUPID... take that off and you will see a reduction of THEFT !!

Are you in Havasu? I've lived here almost exactly 1 year now and I've had to deliver mail to my neighbors atleast 12 times now that was delivered to my house. In the 25 years in Long Beach I think I did it once or twice.
