First two years after I installed it we never ran the A/C, then last year never ran the swamp cooler.

So far this year half the time.
Humidity the reason, maybe people in Simi running their lawn sprinklers more is the tale.

Inverter cooling fans on the Solar power wall puked so we try and run the Swamp cooler more.

The fans are proprietary Tesla, can't buy them. Tesla or a rep has to fix them with a 2 week back log.

Swamp cooler is pleasant, quiet,, nice.

Ordering replacement pads from Amazon we found best to order one set at a time. When we order two sets, only one set arrives and they won't make good on it.

Anyone else able to run their Swamp cooler in this sticky heat?

30+ years in this house no A/C swampers only. When the humidity is low we get a 30 degree difference from outside to inside. The key is good pads from excelicisor that are not calcium caked.

I used mine until the tank corroded through. May get a new one over the winter. My wife likes it in the spring when it first starts getting hot out.
Ta k cost as much as the whole thing just about and the 12 inch pads are not cheap.

We have a whole house ducted master cool, been able to run it about 70% of the summer. When the humidity creeps up we turn the AC on at 8pm so we can sleep good.

I had one on our house when we moved to az. I got it going and on the 95 degree days and low humid it worked really well.

It was in bad shape though I had to redo water tank and replace shaft and bearings. When ac went out it pretty much saved us. Would cool house to 68 degrees overnight and temp would slowly increase to 84 on a very hot day.

But got rid of it when we replaced ac as it sat in front of it. I usually cracked open kitchen windows when running.

I use mine and Havasu all the time when I’m working in the garage. Unfortunately, right now the humidity is a bit too much so I abort the mission and move to the pool.🤣

Early summer, I open the door from the house to the garage and cool the whole house. Works well until the humidity kicks in.

We have been using our mastercool exclusively for over 20 years. Ducted to the hallway with upducts in all the bedrooms the few days we have any humidity we just tough it out. Not used the AC once in that time, probably should have it serviced at least.

I guess it all depends where you’re sitting, in the desert when it’s 106° with a 62° dewpoint is a bit uncomfortable.🤣

Much like Florida when we're sitting here and it's 90° and the humidity is worn something like slime it's also a tad uncomfortable. It not that dry heat we keep hearing about.

I’m sitting in my garage right now with the swamper on. Outside temperature is 106 but the garage is a pleasant 88..
It’s probably time for me to replace the pads in my two coolers but Polar-cool is really proud of those pads, $450 per set!!

And I thought master cool pads were bad.😳

I get that they all claim there some sort of proprietary design, but I just don’t see the cost for what appears to be some kind of coated paper media. Oh well, I guess you gotta have it if you’re gonna run a swamp cooler.

I got 20 yrs out of this set so I really can’t complain but it’s still a bit of a sticker shock.

That’s pretty impressive, I replace mine every other year just as a maintenance item, mine get pretty calcified because they run nonstop for the Most part during the summer

I feed mine through a “Big blue” 10” 1micron filter and I’m pretty sure that helps. At least it makes me feel like I’m doing something to help.
