So both of my bow rails are bent. Can these be straightened or should I just buy new ones? Any suggestions on a place that handles this?
I highly doubt you could straighten them. I'd replace them or better yet just remove them and have the holes filled and gel matched.
Good place to start for replacement would be Eliminator.
Doing that this time of year would probably take about what............. 2 weeks??![]()

It's really not that big of a repair to fill the holes in. Are they all in white?
That's what I was thinking. If you remove the rails where are you going to tie off the fenders in the front and middle. The cleat would already be used for the dock. At least on my 25' Eagle this would be a problem.

Like an off white, not stark

Don't you have cleats and a bow eye? I use my cleats for my fenders which already have long ropes through them. Bow eye and grab handles on the transom are perfect for tying off also. I'd guess that the bow rails are bent from tying off to them?
DCB's usually just have push pins, no cleats. I'm used to it. Haven't had a boat with a bow rail in years.
Only 1 cleat in the front. The bow eye doesn't help with the fenders. I do use the grap handles in the back. But that doesn't help the front where the bow rail is. Never had a bent rail. Nord must have to many chicks dancing on his bow.![]()
We're talking about Nord. Everybody has to sit, on a towel, with their hands in their lap. Lol.
Thats because is to short to see over the bow of the boat.![]()
I vote to get rid of them also, it would look much cleaner and more up to date.
It's bow rails bending that leads to that shitWe're talking about Nord. Everybody has to sit, on a towel, with their hands in their lap. Lol.

LOL........ MaybeBut if you get new rails, the first fat chick to plop her ample derriere awkwardly down on the bow in a River Raper induced drunken stupor will bend em again anyway..... :cool :drink
With those red checkers nothing you do will bring the boat up to date.I know I have purple checkers. :grumble:
I never said anything about bringing the boat "up to date". I love my boat and the way it looks. It's been good to me.
I'm not opposed to removing the rails as a whole though. I would have to change out the mushroom cleats. They blow. They are so short you can hardly wrap a rope around them once. I just don't want the fill to look like a "patch".
Calm down old man..............I quoted Motor Boater. Not you Nord. :rolleyes![]()

After some checking into this, If I remove the bow rails, I have to have some sort of rail in the front for a passenger to hold on to for safety. I'm pretty sure it would be a safety issue with LEO.
That being said, I've been quoted about 280 per side to have new one's made. I'm going to continue a search for in-stock replacements.
So when is the last time a LEO has given a ticket for not having a bow rail? That's retarded.
I would worry more about a liability issue then a ticket.![]()
You guys are way over thinking this. Nord just have new rails made.

Your way under thinking this...........![]()
USCG Railing Requirements only pertain to Inspected (commercial) Vessels.
The ABYC (American Boat & Yacht Council) & NMMA (National Marine Manufacturers Association) have set "Standards" for certified builders, but they are by no means law.
$280/side sounds cheep, does that include installation?
If it were me I'd look in to thinker walled stainless.
You getting this finished before Memorial and Tube Float?
Jesus Christ you ask a boat related question on here and you can't even get help on the original post................. :thumbsdown

Hey Nord. Get the shorter rails and replace the mushroom cleats with the dual tab pin cleat ( see attached pic ). Bring it to Eliminator. We can install the pin cleats, the bow rail and do the gel coat repair.
