Threw some new rubber on my 99 Profile cruiser - all profile parts except crupi pedals. Just finally put together mid 2000's quad angle today -various parts: redline 3 piece cranks redline hubs/rims s&m bars kinda mush mash of parts. Next is the 2010ish global to build up. Trying to figure out what color to do with the black. I like the green stem a lot but that money green is difficult to find. Maybe black and white. I don't know yet. Love the Quadangle. Growing up a buddy had a quad with Bullseye hubs, cranks and pedals, it was fucking awesome. You have some nice stuff hanging up there.

I found a RRS 24 a few years ago and stripped it down and had the frame and fork powder coated. I need to get it back together. Was looking for this bike for years, this is the only one i found and haven't seen another for sale since.

I go through waves all the time. Built my kid a couple years ago a mini ripper. Back in the late 90's I bought basically every cool bmx frame I could think of and went through a huge phase of building old scool bikes. Had a 20" CW, 20" Hutch, 20" Race Inc, 20" PK Ripper, 20" & 24" Hutch, 20" 24" Patterson, 20" Shogun (Kuwahara), 24" Profile, 19" Patterson, 19" Redline...But I live on the beach and keeping all that chrome up is a NIGHTMARE. Sold it all off except the Profile. Building these up so the wife, my 23 y/o daughter and the kids can all go for bike rides. At least that's the excuse I say. lol;)

Some pics I had on my phone.

Get one! The company that bought all the jigs to SE stuff back in the mid 2000s actually makes a very nice bike and parts even though they're no built in the US anymore. I was super bummed when SE closed shop an optimistic when the new over seas company bought them. The company is run very well too with a huge commitment to improving and expanding on the line while keeping the heritage. I've been really pleasantly surprised with them. You can get a newer style PK used for around 500 built really nice.

I was going to ask who built the quad. Is it aluminum or cro-mo? VRP by chance?

If they are built by who I think, they made 20 of them and sold for $1200 for frame and fork. Worth a lot more now. I had a black 24", a candy blue fat tube 24" and a SE blue 26". They were made by Sal Corea, the original welder for SE bitd on SE jigs. I kick myself for selling them constantly. They were the best riding bikes I ever owned. Unfortunately the guy who sold them was a shady mo-fo... :grumble:

Quads are chro-mo, PK Rippers, Flovals are Aluminum.

Sal built aluminum 24" and 26" double down tube quads too. I had one of each. I now see yours is a loop tail. The aluminum quads were all W tails. He also built 3 aluminum 20" double down tubes and they actually had SE serial #'s on the dropouts. I had 2 of them.

Ready to kick something after thinking about them now. Thanks,, lol

I came across the Floval and the Quad while searching to buy a Floval about 4 years ago. A dude down in L.A. had both stripped down and was selling them for a good price. I like to put stuff together the way I like it and hunt down parts so it was perfect. I was actually looking for a Floval circa 90's era but settled for the mid 2000s model because it came as a package deal with the quad.

they're not hard to come by, not even 80's original models. They just demand stupid money.

SE racing is actually re-issuing the SR1 Anniversary edition (Stu Jones / founder of SE Racing original quad angle replica) It's set up TIIIIIIGHT, though it's a 29" and the original was a 20 or 24" can't recall. LIke I said, SE does a very good job keeping their heritage alive and produces Anniversary and retros routinely. I'm not thrilled with them changing the actual design of the PK Ripper and Floval Flyer and taking away the flat down tube but they keep putting out retros of it so it's legacy lives on. Heres a pic of the 29" SR1 Quad replica they sell. I'm guessing its around 800-1k 2017_SE_STR-29_QUADANGLE_SEBLUE_SIDE.jpg

Just found this on their site. Cool bike, but not as cool as an original.

A man after my own heart! You know your history.

Those are worth BAAAAAAAANK!!!!

I could never justify paying that kind of money. Like the money theyre getting for GJS' and JMC's. Just not worth it to me. I should not have sold all my 20"s I named off for they're worth triple what I sold them for now. I'm almost tempted to pick up new BMX stuff and just sit on them. They all jump price around the 15 year mark. Even Dyno's are worth money now! crazy.

The one thing I did right was keep that 24" Profile that's in the pic. I bought that new from Profile and built it up with all top of the line Profile parts. At the time my buddy owned a bike shop so I got everything for cost and I ended up into it for around 1200. Wouldn't been double that and now who knows how much it's worth or will be worth since Profile only built frames again for a few years in the late 90's early 2000's. I'll most likely never sell that thing.

In the 80's the Profile frames were built by Hutch. Same as a Hutch, but had the diagonal bar.

I still have my 20" fat tube quad that Mike Devitt gave me. #986 of 1000. I'll dig up the disc with pics of the collection when I can. I thought I did well when I sold my it off, but what people pay now is insane! There's a few I wish I had kept and most of them were the VRP Quads. They were the best riding bikes ever. My orange Alliant 24" is another one. It went to Germany for stupid $ even then.

Well, looks like the quad might go away. Dude that bought my 95 PK Ripper I ordered new and built wants to trade me straight across for the quad. So, going no to swap them out this weekend, then build the floval.

Very cool! I have an old Race Inc. frame that I'm trying to locate a fork for. If you ever see one, could you please let me know. I've had a crazy hard time finding one.

View attachment 539206

I had a chrome one. Without the gusset.

They pop up from time to time. That's a late 70's early 80's. Mid 80's got rid of the gusset. But they're around. I'll keep an eye out.

Great looking bike! You need to look for Cycle Pro forks. That's what they came with. I may have a seat post for it. 13/16" I'll dig around the garage when I have time.

Tank do you do mostly late model frames or early? What size bike is that your son is sitting on? Love to get my 7 year old daughter on one. I had a Diamond Back, CW bars, everything you would want, bike was bad ass. Sold it at a garage sale for what I would guess was $100 bucks back in the day. Now I would pay whatever it took to get it back.
Where's a good place to find these bikes?

I like mod 80's mostly - GT, CW, Patterson, Hutch, SE Racing of course JMC, GJS, cooks bros but that shits crazy expensive.

Back in the late 90's through mid 2000's you could pick up 80's frames for reasonable prices (couple hundred bucks usually). Now shits out of control. You will find most everything on eBay and Craigslist but don't expect too much of a deal. People know what they're worth now days.

Nothing special on it but the frame. Don't remember the brand of fork, but someone told me not Cook Bros.

Forks are early Patterson. Cool bit of trivia, Patterson forks are Redline 24" forks with GT dropouts. Rims look like Ukai Speedlines.

Like Tank said,, That frame is worth a grip and those forks are worth some stupid coin as well.

Got a pic? 1st thing I think of is a PK Ripper. Oh wait! CW made an oval top tube frame. Most of them broke, so if that is what you have it's a very good thing. CW Z-1. They also made a few mini's and jr's with that tube.

I'll have to snap one when I get home. It has a serial # or something stamped on the dropout.....beginning with Z or ZL I think. Dunno..... I was thinking Zeroline. Has GT forks. Could never figure it out. It's super light. Ambrosia rims....Uni seat.

I had a Zeronine I got in trade from Jim Melton's brother. (JMC) I can't remember what it looked like though?

I'm betting it's a CW Z1 though. Short top tube? Like 17" or so?

If someone were to buy it it would be for the frame. The rest of the parts would be sold off. There are 100's of people looking for those early Patterson forks. Trust me I have been in that situation. I would keep it and ride it, but never let it out of your sight.

There was a point where I owned every frame Patterson ever made and had them all built for show. Had race gear, helmets, etc for display. The problem was I didn't do that with just Patterson,,,, :rolleyes

I've had a couple of Cooks frames and parts, but they weren't something I collected. They would get traded for stuff I wanted. Came across a bike shop once that had a bunch of Cooks stuff in the back. That was a very profitable day.

Bad ass thread! I have my 98 Schwinn Pro Mod sitting in the bedroom of my condo. I've hit the track in Havasu a couple times but I'm a lot fatter than I used to be lol. I'd love to build up a 24 some day.
Nord has a pretty impressive collection of old bmx stuff. Maybe he'll chime in.

Yep.. being built in Ca. They have a fb page (Gary Turner).

Looks like it has the famous GT nub at the top tube and seat post meet. I dig that raw finish by the way.

Here you go.
Yellow one is the "Goat". Craig is an old customer of mine. They are still friends with Eddie Fiola and the bunch. Eddie actually made his own line for a bit
