I have not walked into a Chipotle in over a year. Ever since they had the first food safety issue. Don't trust them and don't see myself ever going back.

Chipotle doesn't kill me. It's Panda Express and most cheap sushi joints. Extra strength Colon Blow! Literally ran into Ap the other day on grabbed onto the ADA bars! Very close call.

I find it so odd that you either love or hate chipotle. I have family and friends that are completely in love with them and think I'm nuts for not being a fan. I have gone multiple times and just don't get it. It's the most gringo version of Mexican good you can find and its just bland as shit with a lot of no flavor rice as filler.

When Chipotle first opened they had entirely different quality than they offered a year later.
They really backed it all down and it all turned to cheap shit and raised prices.

Then the eColi incidents in Simi Valley,,, they did nothing,, then over the span of a year the eColi spread across the nation and they still did nothing.
Anyone who eats there must not follow the news.

That's how Stuart Andersons ran their operation.
"Great quality cuts the first year a location opened, then switch to commercial beef which is retired milk cows and South America import beef marinated in Cider vinegar to break it down before cooking."

I like Chipotle, not a eat it all the time thing but still think it's healthier than allot of the options.

The e-coli deal is a double edged sword... The downside is obvious. But, the source is believed to be local produce. Chipotle doesn't do the one source of highly processed foods filled with preservatives. They source from local farms, supporting local economies & fresher foods. Unfortunately that makes quality control a much harder task. The outbreaks are more likely with their business model but are more localized as well.

wife loves the safritas, what ever that is. I don't like it. I will go if theres nothing else close by, but never choose it. About 13 years ago I started going to the one in Redlands, one of the originals. It was the best.
Now, it never fails, it tears me up! I started getting salsa on the side, that helps. So I narrowed down the cleanse ingredient to salsa. Your results may vary. :D

But I think its done. my guess is you will start seeing them close. With the minimum wage going up there no way I will pay more, so something is going to get worse.

The outbreaks were chain wide - nation wide, taking place over a year + duration and they had a cavalier attitude about it. They even denied it at one point.
They did nothing that entire time and it kept spreading.
How can you say it's localized? Simi Valley Ca to the East Coast.

Perfect description. I hate these phony Tex-Mex knock off joints that serve what appears as artificial precooked meat products and bad rice making your burrito look larger than it is......:thumbsdown

Cases as of December 21, 2015

They are thought to come from local produce, which makes them localized. Also, the e-coli has been found to be different strains - so they didn't come from the same source.

Same chain though.
No other chain had it nationwide.

Supporting my original statement: "The outbreaks are more likely with their business model but are more localized as well."

But, your kidding yourself if you think no other chains have had it. Chipotle is just the latest & in the spotlight because they are generally considered to serve healthier, fresher food. Most chains from McDonalds to Jack in the Box to Taco Bell to Kroger have had e-coli outbreaks. In the 90's Jack in the Box had a recall of almost 300,000 hamburger patties nationwide which resulted in over 700 people ill & 4 people dying.

Love Chipotle....and I don't go because I think it is authentic...but it taste good their way and you get to make it how you want it.

They like others have had issues, but because their stock had gone up 5000% in the last 10 years they caught the biggest spotlight.

Chorizo or no Chorizo

When ever I have the urge to eat a wet salad with a spoon from a recycled egg carton in a cold garage-like setting with a bunch of libs I head over to Chipotle.

Why put yourself thru the agony of eating at such places?

I'd rather skip a meal...

Chorizo is the New Bacon..starting to show up in the main stream

Use caution where you eat a chorizo taco......That greasy shit will leave a permanent stain.:skull

It's tasty stuff, but many folks would not eat it if they knew what went in a lot of it:yikes:yikes

Chipotle, the Subway of "Mexican" food... Bland as hell. Might as well eat cardboard taco's.

Blaze Pizza is the new "Chipotle".

If you don't like sausage on your pizza, don't ask them to put it on.

I like Wahoo's :thumbsup

Or Taco Mesa. :thumbsup

Chipotle sucks. Almost every time I've gone, the food is freezing cold. You literally have to start eating it, while you're paying for it. The employees are worthless. At rush hour times, they're always out of something and no one begins to prepare more until you ask for it. I stopped eating there when people started getting sick.

You can add any sausage-style meat, and many ground meats, to that statement :yikes

Yeah they're popping up everywhere.
But they do have a good gluten-free dough, so I can get my pizza fix :thumbsup

It is delicious. They did recently raise their prices 50 cents though.

And I know what is in sausage.. I still eat it.

I used to love Chipotle when they first opened the location in Burbank. I thought it tasted great! Now I have noticed the severe drop in beef quality, higher prices and just overall worse flavor. Their E-coli issues didn't scare or bother me. Higher chances or worse things happening to anybody.

I much prefer a similar style Mexican restaurant in town but it's a good bit more authentic and MUCH tastier. Tortilla Town in Paso Robles.

the Encinitas location. About 1 year ago my wife and oldest son went there. Just the 2 of them. While they ate my wife gave son $20 for something, he put it in his wallet. 20 minutes later they leave, my sons car is parked 8 feet from the front door. He gets in, realizes he forgot the wallet on the table. Runs in, asks the counter help if they picked it up, yeap. He starts walking out, looks inside NO 20. Goes to the counter and confronts the lady, now very broken English. The 20 disappeared, turned to dust, X files like. Now my wife comes in to see why its taking so long. She unloads on the help, the place was crowded also. Still no $20.
Calls corporate when she got home did the Yelp thing you name it. They credited the meal on our card, sent a gift certificate which we threw away.
Never again, not any wahoos anywhere.

I do like Free Bird, its a bit expensive though
