Both he and his wife were severely burned in an accident in march. Amanda Franklin died from her injuries last week.

Wow, that's really sad.
The article says other family members have been killed flying planes as well.
"Earlier this week Amanda Franklin talked to Brownsville Herald Reporter Steve Clark. She told him of the airshow accident in 2005 that killed her father and father-in-law. Franklin said despite the loss she and her husband never considered quitting."

The Younkins and Franklins are airshow royalty. Both families are heavily involved in the circuit. Pretty tragic what happened, and Amanda passed away just several days ago.
