At the exhaust port I have dry rot.......
So let it dry out and then fill the gap with epoxy?

No, that would work to get you thru a season, but it reall has to be cut out. I would pull the whole transom.

Have you ever cut a transom out ?
That basically means pull the motor and the jet out ?

Yep everything comes out. All the old wood is removed then a new piece put in and glassed. I know there is threads on it where people have had it done. What about replacing just the rotted out area kind of like a patch job?

Bad idea, dry rot is a fungus, the spores can travel a long way, far more then you would think. Replacing is by far the best method.

I know what the best method is but just giving another option. Better than just putting epoxy on the rotted wood.
