Right now we are on a family plan with Verizon. I am thinking of moving the kids over to Sprint so they can have Unlimited Data. I noticed the fine print says that you have to be on Sprint's network to have unlimited talk and data, and they don't give you much of an allowance if you are off their network. The Mrs and I will stay with Verizon.

Who has a Sprint Unlimited plan and what are your thoughts? How often are you going out of their network?

Thanks,

There's hardly any 4G in the country for them?

My wife can't get off of Sprint fast enough.

We live in the South Bay of LA, work near LAX.
She barely gets a 4G signal anywhere...and when she does have a 4G signal, it makes no sense that my 3G VZW service is still faster.
It's unacceptable when shit doesn't work well in the most population-dense area of CA.

While she was drawn to the advertised rates, in reality after fees and whatnot the savings isn't huge, and she's willing to go else where (ATT or VZW) to pay for better service.

Sprint piggy backs on T-Mobil's network. I had T-Mobil for awhile. SUCKED AZZ!!!

Verizon is pricey, but it works.

There are several threads on here about Sprint. They are in "Last ditch effort" mode.

Every time I call my buddy who is on Sprint his phone cuts off or he hangs up because he knows it will cutoff at any minute!

I was hoping it would get an "OK" rating. LOL. I just want the kids to be able to stream music and videos and not have to be tethered to wifi.

My cousin lives here in yorba Linda, he has sprint, can't make or receive phone calls within about a 2 mile radius of his house here. Nor does he get reception at our place in parker. Their cheaper, both in price and service

I have metro and it's great in phoenix. No complaints at all. Now in havasu, talk and text work great but data is basically useless

Thanks,

Sprint (lack of) coverage sucks. I would never go back to them.

I have it. I unlocked the wifi tethering and use the shit out of it. My phone, a laptop, and 2 ipads when we travel. I can easily do 5GB a day when traveling with the family. I stream netflix to my ipad when I can't sleep.

I'm glad I read this thread though, when we signed up we got unlimited data and unlimited data roaming. Now I know to be on the lookout when renewing/upgrading.

Service is good near me but even with some coverage issues, the unlimited data and unlocked tethering will keep me with Sprint.

I did this with AT&T and they figured it out. I wonder if Sprint will eventually figure it out on your deal? AT&T got nasty, knew the phone was Jailbroke and what program was working. How they knew that off of bits of data is maybe more your direction. I figured they embedded and app somehow to snoop it out. Just beware. They threatened to terminate my unlimited data but it was throttled anyway so I play dumb with them until the certified letter came from an AT&T Attorney firm. They got my attention with that deal.

If you have a Droid, there is an app for tethering outside of the provider knowing. Foxfi

Sprint/AT&T works great along the Eastern Coast, and much of the south, just as good as anyone else. Depends where you live. Verizon seems to work everywhere.
