I consider myself a pretty intelligent person and I got stumped on my 3rd grader’s second math question. Common core clearly isn’t my cup of tea. Later that day I ordered “common core for parents for dummies” off of amazon. I need to hire someone. Also, my niece got a math question wrong for putting a comma where it belonged.

On a positive note, since homeschooling began, my 8 year old has learned real life skills like how to back up a jet ski trailer with a golf cart, and how to change a spark plug.

I remember kindergarten and learning very quickly.
Don’t grab onto the metal merry go round on a 105 degree day,
Don’t jump off the mgr on the side with the chain link fence.
Don’t jump off, fall and skid through the gravel.
If the bully is bigger than you, make friends with him. If he’s smaller, kick his ass. At this point, no one challenges you.
Respect everyone, you don’t have to agree, just show respect.
Be nice.

I think I’m going to teach my 7 yr old to drive the golf cart. I think he’s got it.
