Is this real? If so how can I find out if/where the 💰💰💰 is?

If it's real I'll give up 10% of $1,789.00 to get the balance.

What's the story here?

Note: They referenced my previous address in No LA County and I'm now in the next state over

Baller! Leaving that kind of scratch laying around. Real but you can claim it yourself by visiting the unclaimed property site, I think it’s the comptroller’s office.

Careful dude (edited as not to harm anyone  or get sued) . You can go here https://ucpi.sco.ca.gov/ to see if there is anything out there owed to you. I hate this shit with a passion.

Its another "I'm too lazy to do it myself" service and you can keep the 10% fee by getting ahold of the state comptroller's office yourself and filling out whatever paperwork they require to show proof you are the legal owner of the unclaimed property and they cut you the check. Tell them to go suck it.

I collected over 500.00 through 10 or 11 different accounts that had been sent to the state. Funny what you forget, or don’t know about.

I know many firms who go to their state's unclaimed property, send out a $.50 cent blanket letter, and help you recover funds. Problem is, you can do this yourself just as easily, by searching your name. Try different variations, omit specific addresses, use middle name, don't use middle name, etc. I often will go to the site and search friends and been successful. So far, I've helped friends and family collect in excess of $20k.

OK, let me change that...they may be a completely legit PI firm. So we will call it shotgunning, searching databases looking for customers. But this is something you can do yourself and takes very little effort.
Fair enough. I'm sure they are legit, that's an older license number. The fact remains, but for the letter, WhatExit had no clue he was owed money.

I worked for a foreclosure trustee. I contacted people to let them know their property sold at auction for more than was owed against it, and they were entitled to receive the remaining monies. It was called a "surplus of funds/" A lender can be made whole, but cannot profit on a foreclosure sale and any money beyond the original loan amount and legal fees must be returned to the former borrower/owner.

Anyhow, the hardest part of the process was convincing the former borrower/owner that I wasn't a....scammer! Lol.

My little Sister found a nice chunk I didn't know about, stock dividends that were paid retroactively.

My mom had one like that. The site said it was $1,000 and she ended up receiving $3,500. Don't even know how that happened, but she didn't argue with them.

Yup, good move. Whenever somebody posts my name, or my (old) company name on a public site that Google crawls - Google sends me a notification. But you never mentioned their name so I doubt they would find it. Google alerts, totally free.

I went on that unclaimed property thing, and I see unclaimed stuff from my wife, Disney dividends, which are only like $12, and then Disney Securities, but they have a $0 amount. She's also got some other dividends in there, but they are only a few dollars.
