So I'm driving home on the 405 tonight, and almost simultaneously a warning chime dings once, the CEL comes on and I lose power.
Truck starts to slow down so I squeeze the accelerator pedal, but the engine really doesn't respond.
The engine note gets deeper, and the transmission kicks down, but truck is still slowing.
Then, not even 10 seconds later, just as I'm starting to pull toward the right shoulder, everything is back to normal.
One thing I did notice, about 5 minutes prior to this, is that the temp gauge was slightly high.
The gauge is usually parked just below the halfway mark, but I noticed that it was slightly above the halfway mark for a minute...then went back down.
Outside temps were in the low-60s and I was unloaded, doing about 70.
Don't know if it's related, but it did seem odd.
I won't have a chance to pull the code until tomorrow.
Anyone want to take a guess at what it is?
Truck is a 2007 Dodge Ram with a Cummins, automatic tranny.
