I realize that the majority of you are likely not fashion-forward.... Hell, I'm no fashion plate either. I'd rather be in shorts and flip flops any day, as I suspect many of you would, but I've got to ask about this, as it has been driving me nuts! Is it a trend for men to be wearing high-water slacks these days? I'm talking, no break in bottom of the slacks since they don't even touch the top of the shoe - 2 inches above the ankle type of hem with your colorful, patterned socks and big dumb shoes hanging out for everyone to see? I work with a bunch of weirdos that dress like this and I'm wondering if it is normal? Perhaps, as a tall woman, I'm extra sensitive about pant length since it's sometimes difficult to find pants long enough for me? I would guess that it can't really be a very popular trend since it was a challenge to even find pictures of it on Google.... Do you guys dress like these clowns??? Am I missing something?? GAWD. So hideous.

I worked on a bldg today that had a bunch of homos dressed like that. There seems to be a trend of people trying to see how stupid they can look and play it off as fashionable. I don't get it. Although my wardrobe is pretty simple. Dickies. Jeans. Trunks. T shirts and flip flops or chucks.

Gay. Hell no do I dress like that, those clowns are trying to be "metro-sexual" , it's suppose to be fashionable. It's just gay, like kids wearing "skinny" jeans these days. Same concept but for men in the work place. Slim fit is not cool
IMO. Your co-workers probably listen to Adam lambert , Miley Cyrus and Brittany spears on the way to work....

LOL... Good, glad I'm not the only one that thinks that. I would NEVER let my husband leave for the office looking like that. Horrible. :thumbsdown

I like the trend of flat-front trousers and singe-breasted, fitted coats. That being said, I draw the line at high-waters. I also like that three-piece suits are coming back but I haven't found one that I like or that I can afford.

In the event you do need to wear a suit, I bet it doesn't look like these homos...

It's only not cool when your "pleasantly plump":D

I had to ask my buddy if his 22 yr. old nephew was "alternative" when he stopped by with a male friend....until the kid's girlfreinds showed up. For the young in's I guess whatever attracts the "strange" will suffice.

LR=no high waters/skinny pants....EVER

Agreed. I think all of those are attractive on the right guy... There is literally NO guy in the whole world that would be hot in high water pants. Even Luke Bryan... unless they were wadded up on the floor... :skull

I wear dress pants 4 days a week, and wouldn't be caught dead wearing that slim fitted high water shit.

No. Not at all. Believe it or not I actually do have a few suits. Just no need or desire to wear them.

I almost didn't post that because I figured it would go sideways on me. :D

If I come back with anything else I will have to listen to Raquel Welch references for the rest of my online life!

No way in Hell would I wear some shit like that. I don't understand the lame ass "fashion" these days. I like a nice cuff that breaks right on the bridge of my foot on my trousers. I don't wear a suit to work and don't like wearing them, but the ones that I have are just nice normal good looking suits. I think you guys are right, must be secret code for I like it in the butt!!!

No worries, it was a belt high fastball and I would have done the same thing and I am still laughing at it.

Somewhere out there today in RiverDaveland someone is pissed off at their wife or girlfriend for buying pants like that for them, or is making their son take that shit back to the store! :D

Probably going to be hard to find anybody here that supports that look since most of the guys on this site are straight!;)

I would hope anyone who is on RDP and is gay would have enough of a sense of humor to get the joke and realize that people are just messing around. Just like short, drunk, cop, accountant, Hammer, 460 and terrorist jokes.

See how Shintoooo was referenced twice?:D

It's such a travesty, I can't look away. When they wear purple socks to match their purple shirts, it's hard not to notice. No shit.

Not sure how being gay or straight fits into the equation but then again, i wouldnt expect a bunch of middle aged men in their 40-50's on a boating forum to be sartorialists with bespoke pieces. lol
That being said, i dont mind the "high waters" i have suits that are fitted to me and choose to go this route. Not as extreme as shit you see but i do it. I draw the line when it comes to having jackets that fit 2 sizes too small and the cuff is half way up your forearm. To each their own though. :gayfight

100% riduculous, I saw a guy at lunch today with high waters and I thought to myself did you look in the mirror before leaving the house today? Didn't know it was some stupid trend....

I'm pissed enough if I have to wear pants let alone a suit of any kind.
I have yet to see someone dressed like that, thank goodness:p

I have my pants for the office hemmed just at the top of my shoes. It looks better then fat old guy pleats with cuffs. I am not yet an old fat guy.

The above the ankle look isn't what I would wear though.

I saw a dude rocking that the other day at Nordstroms, and told Audrey it looked like he was wearing a borrowed suit.

But, the slim fit is flattering to a guy who can rock it, which is likely what it's all about. Showing off a slender figure, with no room to hide the extra 10 pounds.

A bare midriff isn't attractive on a chick with a gut, and you would make fun of them. But chicks rocking a six-pack warm up the look for sure.

It's easy for guys carrying any "extra" weight (over 5% body fat) to clown guys wearing stuff we can't. All while that dude, if straight, is probably bangin' dime pieces.

An XXL Tommy Bahama bowling shirt untucked over khaki sansabelts is hardly a defenseable position to cast aspersions from in any case. It's a fashion give up for guys who've let it go.

I'm gonna flip out my chick card here.... No Joke - I'd take extra pounds, an ugly baggy t-shirt, shorts with the junk-sling and flip flops with socks before I would take some pansy fairy with a suit that looks like he borrowed it from his prepubescent brother. Why? Because the guy with the extra pounds and the cheesy clothes is still manly. That guy is gonna pound you something fierce. The dude with the metro suit? The only thing that dude is gonna be pounding is another dude's O-ring.

I'll admit though... I do chuckle to myself as I walk past these "guys" knowing that I could hand them an ass-whoopin.

Slim fit suit is one thing , but short slacks do not look good whatsoever. You should not be showing off your socks as part as your wardrobe . That is not stylish.

Who are you referring to with the XXL Tommy Bahama reference ?
