Sold my 6" lifted truck with 35" tires and don't want to go that route again.

I Picked up a low miles Denali from a family member. It is a 2009 AWD with the 6.2.

I can't stand the way it sits or the running boards.

How large of a tire can I run with just a leveling kit in the front?

Will 33" fit?

Would you go with a 16" or 17" wheel (Cheaper tires than 20")?

I kind of like this look:

Do a 17-18" wheel with a 33" tire on a level kit.

16's are dead and I'm not even sure they would clear the brakes

305/55/20 w/ very minor trimming on a leveling kit.
This is my old truck with that setup.

I'm 90% sure the base wheels on those years truck were 17" and they are the smallest you can run.

I'd suggest 285/70-17's. I think they have a great sidewall to wheel ratio and look great on leveled trucks.

Go now and get the insides of the rear wheel wells in the bed Rhino Lined.

16s probably won't fit around the brakes. I'd look at 18s at a minimum. Level the front with 33s and call it good.

Had the same combo on my 11 and 13 silverado.......looked great:)

I don't wan't to do it on my 2014 because it killed my mpg....Thinking of selling the factory 20's and going with a 22" wheel and a standard factory size tire and lowering the rear 2".

Yeah it really does drop it quite a bit. I don't have that set up though anymore for this truck. Changed it within a month I did it because you just don't know how many "twins" you have driving around till you have it set up that way. Way to many lol. So I went and lowered it instead on 22's [emoji106]

looks great....

Exactly what I would do if it was my truck.

4/6? Mcgaudy or Belltech?

Its my wife's truck and I have enough cars I actually drive to waste $$$ on....lol

I want to yank the side molding so bad but I know the truck will get door dinged the same day (I have your exact truck . White crew ltz)

Yeah 4/6 kit with helper bags for the rear. Went with mcghaughys. Yup exactly what would happen lol I was thinking the samething but they don't actually look bad with them on so decided to leave them.

How bad did it hit the MPG? I'm already @ 15.

I like the look of the 20" wheels. I just thought the tire costs were 30% more than a 17. 18" seem to be more expensive.

What's the best 20" wheel tire combo without looking like every other truck? I was looking at the Method/ BFG AT KO2's

Don't want to lower an AWD truck... Still need to make it out to the Desert bar. :beer

With a level lift and 33" tires I bet you loose a solid 3 mpg.

I'm not a fan of 20's with 33's I think it looks funny personally. I like a 17-18" on 33"s.

20's look better with a 35-37" tire.

Personal preference.

New truck has 35's on a 18 in wheel. 5in lift and I'm at 14 mpg. I bet the same truck stock gets 17. 3 mpg is a very real number

Interested in seeing what you do as I'm looking for ideas as well. I like the lowered look, but not practical.

I had 285 tires on an 18" rim on my old LBZ. Perfect combo in my opinion and it barely rubbed ... if at all.

2" front end leveling kit should be here by Saturday

Just need to slap it all together and get it aligned.

It is all about tire/wheel weight as well as a tire with lower rolling resistance.

Check out the Nitto Ridge Grappler. 285/65/18 which is a 33/11.50. Tire weighs 58 pounds. E rated. Run at 40-45psi. Ride is great.

I like Method Wheels. 18 inch wheel will be 23-28 depending on style. Run any under strut spacer. 2 inch level with Bilstein 5100's on factory height. Truck will ride, look and handle great.

My 6.2 with this combo averages a hand calculated 17-18 with a best of 22.9 on long trips. The Ridge Grappler is dead quiet, looks great, and performs well. I will never run another A/T tire after using these.

Pictures?

Need to take a few. It looks just right and simple. Nice part with 11.5 tire is clearance in the wheel well in case you do hit a trail. There are a few gm forums that guys have posted a ton of different setups. Search leveled 2014 Silverado etc as an example.

I called cognito on the phone and told them the rims I was running and that I was using their stage 4 level kit and they told me the tire size I needed to run and not cut or trim the truck. Toyo 295/55/20 Soto no offset.
Here's my truck and tire and wheel.

3/4 ton torsion will clear more tire than a 1/2 ton coilover set up the same.

These are 285/55-20 with a three inch lift in front and one inch in back.

I use rear air bags to level the load when trailering.
