I have a 1981 Glastron CVX 17 boat and am trying to remove gas tank for cleaning and replacement of gas line.

It appears to be stuck in place by paint, tar, fibre glass or all of the above.

Can anyone give me advice as to how to get the tank out with no damage to it or the boat.

Thanx

This is going to be of no use to you at all - but I recently picked up a derelict Glastron CSS19. That I am rebuilding and the tanks were behind the arm rests on each side of the back seat passengers.. Appeared to be just held in by the sideboard and some fiberglas...

You may want to check with www.fiberglassics, or www.classicglastron.com

I had a CVX20 and for the most part everything was glassed in. Not a bunch just a single layer. Fortunately the glass was so dried out that it came loose with a couple of whacks with a rubber mallet. You're going to have to cut it out I'm afriad.
