Intake repeller

Has any or does anyone have or heard of a intake repeller. I sucked up weeds for the first time in pirates cove this weekend and didn't really like the whole thing after pulling out all the weeds I still had a loss of power let the boat sit and went for a small run and back to normal

The impeller , will clog with weeds . You did the right thing .
The impeller, is what makes the boat go. Clogging with weeds , rope and rocks , will not allow enough water to go through , or bind the shaft

Pull weeds out, should be back to normal . Eventually the little bits of weeds remaing get shot out the nozzle.

Ropes are no fun either .
Jets are super simple and safe . Just make sure you stay out of all of the above .

My Day Cruiser rides pretty deep off plane, and been thru weed infested areas. Never had a problem. Lazy Harry's channel is the worst right about now, mid-August thru labor day. Always be on the lookout for weed patches. I'd be going backwards, I have a loader, shoe and ride plate. I imagine that repeller grate would hinder the flow of water to the pump.

never even saw one of those thing-a -ma-jigs, before. didn't even know there was such a thing . very interesting.

"Stomp grates " are popular on Hamilton type jets, utility boats and north west boats in general , the device will allow some removal of debris (hydrilla etc) from the boat with a foot actuated pedal neer the transom
