So.... Who got one? What do you think.

This is iPhone Launch Round 3 for me. I went in at 5am this morning expecting come home around 2.. Boy was I wrong. I just got home and finally got to open up a nice cold one. I expected the craze to be nothing like it was last year. Turns out I was wrong. My guess is that we sold more iPhones today then we've ever sold in one single day.

I finally got to read the real specs on the new iPhone and internally it blows away the last one. Apple put in an all new chipset that's clocking 600 mhz they claim it can run 833 mhz no problem. The battery life is improved 25 percent and the speed difference is definitely noticable. I'm guessing the new chipset will also result in less dropped calls. The focus feautre on the camera is pretty awesome. We had a lot of fun with the voice recorder, if you get the chance download the smacktalk app its 99 cents well spent.

For those of you on Sprint you should take note to the fact that the chipset apple put in the iPhone Palm put in the Pre. Based on that I'm willing to bet the Pre is a smooth running phone.

This is definitely the best iPhone yet. I was really dissapointed with the iPhone 3G, I felt that apple brought it to market prematurely but this new iPhone..... It makes up for all the stupid sh*t apple did with their first round of 3G phones.

I would like to know what others think now that they've had a chance to try theirs at home.

The FCC announced an inquiry Friday into why the iphone is only avail with ATT service plans.
If you could get it with Verizon I'd certainly like to have one.

From what I recall, it was 3 year exclusivity for Cingular/AT&T. I believe the end is near. I want an iPhone but also refuse to leave Verizon.

The exclusive is correct. ATT and Apple signed an exclusive deal allowing ATT to be the sole provider of the iPhone. The exclusive is up next summer but ATT is trying to get extended through 2011. My guess is that Verizon will get an iPhone next, summer their customer base is to big to continue to ignore.

Verizon was given first crack at the iPhone exclusive but shot it down. Apple wanted Verizon to give up a lot of control and Verizon wouldn't do it.
