I've heard they are pretty good. We have a few in my area and I have never tried them. I like Togo's.

Decent Sandwich, overpriced IMO. When it comes to sandwiches, great bread makes the difference.

Jimmy John's sandwich bread is really good, better than Subway or Jersey Mike's. Gandolfo's has some terrific sandwiches, but there aren't many locations. www.gandolfosdeli.com

Jersey Mikes Smokes SubWay!!! A little better than Togos but cost a little more. Good sandwich, probably the best around where I live, but only choices around here are SubWay or Togos so......

What's with guys named "Mike" and sandwiches?
There's a Big Mike's and Original Mike's here in SoCal that make tasty sammies, too :thumbsup

Will give this a try. Hope they make it. It's bad location. Not the area just the strip deal.

Jersey Mikes is out

In LHC Ed's Deli is THE only place for sandwiches. Location sets back on McCulloch near Smoke Tree. It's been there for years - excellent.

Way better than Subway, not quite as good as Togo's. Good news is that they are very consistent and the meat quality is much better than most. The employees are also trained to be friendly, so you always get a nice greeting the moment you walk through the door.

Great sandwiches. The #13 mike's Way!

The owner of the one by me is ALWAYS there and watches the kids make the sandwiches to make sure they are 100% correct. His customer service is stellar. The food is always fresh too.

My pick!!

SUBWAY blows!!!! Togo's is decent. Quizno's is overpriced and usually bad.

Jersey mikes is my all time favorite. Subs are one of my favorite things to eat and I have been to alot of sub shops. Haven't had togos in a LONG time though, don't remember it being great. Subway is just easy as well as Jimmy johns. But nothing good.

There was a liquor store at the corner or Marguerite and Crown Valley in Mission Viejo that made an amazing sub. That was years ago and every so often I still think about it. Forget the name of the place though. Started with an A I think....

Also, publix grocery stores down in Florida makes a damn good sub as well.

I like them but they have to be the most expensive sub out there. I don't like them enough to spend $15 on a large sub, large drink, and chips.

Our friends own the two in Bakerfsfield. They are indipendently owned. If you get one that has fresh bread, it can be a great sandwich. If you get some owner skimpin on detail (like holding the bread over night) they're just "ok". Stil way better than Quiznos or subway.

Yep, not a fan. Just like Port of Subs to me.

Chain Sub places in Vegas, I love Cappriottis..

Cappriottis is good! They have one in the Aliante I eat at all the time! My vote for best in Vegas is Foodslingers!! The philly steak is made with fresh ribeye grilled with onions and peppers topped with cheese wiz!! Best I have had anywhere!!!!

Publix does a great job. To bad they're only in the SE, mainly FL and GA. They bake the bread on premises and offer only Boar's Head products for a couple bucks over store brand meat. Made to order and consistant.

Jersey Mike's is just another ho-hum chain.

If I want a good sandwich, I look for meat markets, mom and pops specialty places, and deli's that put care into what they serve.

The best thing is go there for the opening the sandwiches will be great they are just like firehouse or Quiznos etc. They always have great sandwiches in the beginning then as the time goes buy the size gets smaller less meat and less cheese.

They are one of my favorites other than a mom and pop place in town called "Final Score"

X10 on Final Score. I was kinda sad to see he had to close the bigger place. He just made his move at the wrong time with the economy. Glad he decided to downsize and keep the Sandwich shop open.

Me too. The owner is a very nice guy as well. I used to see him quite often at the gym but with the shop being open again he doesnt come in as much.

When I lived in the SCV (13 years ago), we used to love Final Score, been back a few times to visit, and it's just not the same to me. Not as good as it used to be.

I've noticed that as well. Before they used to never weigh the amount of meat they put in the sandwiches and now they do which might not make the sandwich taste as good as before.

That place was good but I think Giamelas Sp? Is even better. there right there on the corner of magnolia and victory.
Used to go there a few years ago. Maybe once a month.
The cockroaches I saw one day put me off. Referring to Giamellis.

Nothing beats SANTORO'S in Burbank baby!!

2621528.jpg

I agree, nothing beats Santoros in Burbank. I knew Sal the original owner, and a buddy and I tried to buy the place when Sal wanted to sell and retire. (Note: He passed away in 2011). The current owner and his family have known my wife and I for years. He asked us privately to try a new combo of meats to get our opinion. He uses the best meats and cheeses. Bread is fresh every day.

The next best four local sandwich places to me are:
Giamelas (for a peppersteak with cheese or a pastrami with cheese and mustard or a Sausage with extra sauce (every choice with everything added).
Old Tyme Burgers, for Hot pastrami and mustard or an Old Tyle cheese- burger (each with french fries).
Pecos Bills for Pulled Pork sandwiched with their home made hot sauce and a pint of beans. (Good with a real cold beer, you have to provide your own beer).
Handi-Market on Magolia Blvd., for fresh off the BBQ grill BBQ Tri-Tip sandwiches on Saturdays. Good stuff!

Damn! Now I'm hungry again.

Yup. Just had a fresh SF sourdough bread sammich for lunch. <BURP> :D

I even found a place that made great roast sirloin steak with garlic/olive oil and roasted red bell peppers.

Or fresh roasted RB with garlic/olive oil and mayo with horseradish chedder and peppers. Or the fresh roasted turkey and applewood smoked bacon club with pepperjack sammich. (none of that processed deli meat crap)

:D

Many times whenever we work by pedro. Found 1 recently I like better in Westminister. Dino's on Westminister makes a better sub and meatball IMO bigger and cheaper. Always figured busybee would open another southbay location as there is always a line during lunch time.

Fuck! I totally forgot about old times. The one on Glenoaks?

Another place for burgers was Tom's in NH.
