I bought tickets to the IMAX showing in Vegas on Saturday night because the wife and her friend are going to a concert. I was bringing 12 year old grandson who has played Grand Theft Auto and love Scarface but after hearing people who have seen screeners, this is probably a lot darker that I thought. One guy said he’s going to have to look at puppy videos to get back in a light mood. Wondering if they’ll change the ticket but this kid can handle it I would guess......anyone else bringing their under 16 year olds? Not looking for advice or permission. ... even though it sounds like I am:p....was just wondering.....this kids favorite movie was Jaws at 3 years old. :D

Look at puppies to get in a light mood? LOL It's scary how soft Americans are these days. It's a movie. Should you be bringing a 12-year-old to an R rated movie? That's up to you. I was watching R rated movies well before 12 and I think I turned out OK.

What happened to the fun Joker's...Ceasar Romero, or Jack Nicholson? They had fun more than murder..."If you're gonna go, go with a smile":p

Im pretty sure “dark” movies will be banned soon because they may “trigger” folks.

Me personally, im looking forward to seeing it. The darker, the better. I don’t particularly care for horror flicks, but love psychopath movies. American Psycho comes to mind. What a classic.

Hmmm. I have read the same as well. A lot darker then people thought. Maybe it’s one of those movies you watch first then bring the grandson?

I watched Silence of the Lambs at 11, and I was freaked out for months. I watched scary movies before that, but the darkness and thriller aspect of the movie got to me. Now if you ask me my favorite scary movie, it is that one. It legitimately freaks me the hell out to this day...

Same here, Had my kids watching crud movies for a while, showed my 6 yr old step brothers. There is really nothing I would not take him to see except anything that is heavy into Sex/Nudity or crude sexual innuendos (i.e. sausage party, especially final scene). I was raised the same way as a kid (early 80's) going to the drive in with my siblings and there was a ton more nudity back then.. go for it...

The wife and I are planning to see it Tuesday while the kids are in school. Based on the trailer Phoenix is clearly the darkest Joker ever and he was made to play the role.

I can’t wait to see it.

Lol.... Sad reality is YES, there are definitely people like the joker in real life. We just don't have all the drama of them walking around in character all the time. Evil does exist.

Just walked out of the theater thinking I should have saved my money. It was ok but for me the whole movie was a lead up for a bunch of nothing to happen besides the obvious.

I just got out of the movie as well. I thought it was an excellent movie. Joaquin Phoenix hit it out of the park. He is in my opinion one of the best actors out there.

The movie makes you see a side of the Joker you’ve never seen before. Makes you feel bad for him actually.

Great movie.

Saw it Fri night, by far the absolute best move I have seen in a very long time. Wife and 13 y/o son heavily agreed. Being a fan of all the Batman movies since Michael Keaton the story line was incredible. I was very apprehensive about seeing it because of Deniro, being a huge fan almost all of my life of his work and now in disgust of him, but being I am such a bigger fan of Joaquin I had to do it. It sucks because I don't even want to see The Irishman now..
Joker is a must see and has to be a lock for an academy award for JP.

Saw it the other night. It is no superhero movie.

It is a depressing and sad tale of how the Joker got to be. Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor. He did a superb job. DeNiro portrayal didn't click with me. But (spoiler alert) he takes a bullet to the head on live TV.

The movie is excellent for what it is. But you will walk out of the theater a bit disturbed. It is powerful. Just know there's nothing in there to make you feel good. "Dark" is the word many are using, and it fits.

I know I'm late to the party but we finally watched this tonight and I'm not impressed. After about the third time he laughed it was like nails on a chalkboard.

Saw it last night as well, and I’m kind of in the same boat. I got a little bored a few times during the movie, but Phoenix’s acting was awesome. Creeped me the hell out.
