I could see this coming on a trip across country a few months ago. EVERY RV dealer I ran across was absolutely FULL with inventory. Not a great sign for them.

Something tells me this isn’t economy related. Their following and loyalty is on par to what Schiada is. They were routinely a year or two out before your build was complete.

If I had to guess I bet they're having a tough time finding labor and making enough profit to stay in business. Ca regulations make it even tougher.

in my opinion having been Employed by major RV and mobile home manufacturer supplier for 25 years my past career . Being the outside representative to Lazy Days the company was ran old school the owners had oversight of all aspects of the Company on a daily basis from sales to production to purchasing. My guess is that Paul and Ed who are probably now in their 80s probably decided just to close the plant down not sell it and leave the legacy of lazy days and the name they have built as far as quality in their coaches and not to sell it to someone who would not carry on with their reputation of being a manufacture of a quality RV that they produced .

I think you are right, that company had a great reputation. That's mostly why I was surprised it's closed, but I can understand wanting to preserve that as well by refraining from selling.

A tale of what happens to businesses that stay in the most business unfriendly state. It's amazing they tried and were successful for that long.

I was never a fan of them but seemed a better than average product in that market.

As people's minds become softer the ability to discern quality from garbage is no longer an ability, look at the hundreds of thousands of toy healers sold, everyone a complete POS yet people can't wait to buy one.

It’s never a good thing when a company that builds quality products can’t, o don’t stay in business. Never drove in one, but they seemed nice inside. See quite a few on the roads.

Probably a good time to turn off the lights and call it a career. Nobody is buying Gasoline powered Class C's today with O'Bidens War on Fossil Fuels and $5 dollar a gallon gas. Every RV lot I have driven by the last few weeks is at maximum capacity. This isn't going to be the last RV Manufacturer to shutter its doors before Brandon turns them tits up! #FJB

Why wouldn't they leave a good bye statement and why are they refusing reporters questions? I think something happened that they don't want public. What that is, I have no clue.

Problem is, Nobody offers a layout and floor plan that can haul and house a family and toys. Yes, they are all built like garbage, but what other option do you have new that is less than the price of a mid-west family home?

Yea, the toys add a whole new dimension to an RV. It really changes everything. Having enough space for a SXS in a RV really limits the design. Unless someone was going with a superC, not many options.

With the lack of any reason given, I am assuming it is health related. Otherwise, why wouldn't you give all the people that have been loyal to your brand for so many years a reason. Seems selfish, unless a health concern, which is nobody's business.

Saw this elsewhere and it looks like the website is offline. A serious bummer if this is accurate. Hand built and privately owned in Southern CA since 1956.

Any inmates know if this is true?

I grew up in in a house between the two Newton brother's houses, who founded the company. They lived a block from each other in Claremont. Steve Newton, one of the sons, cut our grass from the time he was 13 until he graduated from Claremont High. Always wondered, if he was running Lazy Daze. Sad to see this. Great family. Great people. I almost bought a cherry 68 SSRS big bock camaro from Kurt in the late 80s for 5K.

Imagine what the land is worth also. Probably been owned out right for decades.
