Low Adhesion Tape?

I need some low adhesion tape specifically for protection while I slide and extruded aluminum hinge together.

Not for the slide hinge part but for the surrounding frame which comes very close to the area I have to slide together and was recently painted

I've seen on the auto shows a yellow tape on body parts for protection ..??.. I thought masking tape may be a bit to strong?

Like stated, look at Frog Tape. They offer different types of tape with different levels of adhesion. I grabbed some last week that wont stick to shit. About as sticky as a Post-it note.

If I'm concerned I'll stick the tape to my t shirt first then the part. You might look into 3m white xtended tapes. W used it when the tape needed to remain for more than a week.
