I'm moving into another house at the end of the month and it has a decent side yard that I can put my trailers and possibly a boat in. The problem is the fence only had a 3' swinging gate. So I decided I would widen it to put my trailers there . Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics prior to taking the fence apart.

Not shown is the first fence post I had to remove to widen the opening. It was cemented in and I decided to try and dig it out instead of cutting it flush and grinding it down to the concrete. The post was at least 2 ft. deep ! Pain in the ass and not worth the time it took to do it. I ended up hooking it up to my truck and ripping that sum bitch out of the ground  I used tie downs to stretch the existing chain link tight and cut the excess with linemans (sp?) . I attached the existing chain link to the new post I installed and secured with quicrete. 2 bags was just enough. Dug the hole roughly 18-20 inches and its plenty sturdy.:thumbsup

The next step was to remove the existing chain link and remove the second existing pole which i decided to cut with my sawzall and grind flush. That went quick :thumbsup

once that was done my new Chain link fence frame that I needed was going to be 6 Ft. long . Went to Home Depot and was able to get the fence frame post and hinge assembly hardware and make the frame. I had some old fence laying around so I used that and some of the old hardware to keep rhe cost way down since this is a rental.

I rolled out the fence on the new frame and attached it with tie wire temporarily since my room mate has dogs and I needed to get the side yard back yard closed up. I tie wired the fence to the new post where the hinges would go so it would stay in place while i installed the hinges.

The final step was re installing the existing swing gate for access to the side yard if we needed to get back there for any reason. Pretty simple I used the existing hinge assembly hardware and flipped the gate so the hinges where on the "house side" post since I removed the existing post that the gate originally hinged on. Instead of prying the fence brackets off the post I just removed the cap on the post and slid them off.

How does it stay closed, since they both swing?

I didn't see where there's any spud down between the gates to prevent them from just blowing or swinging open.

Pouring a short slab or driveway from the fence back . I'll drill two holes and mount a "spud" (?) to the fence. The two gates meet where the pole I cut out used to be . That was in concrete, drilling those right now till I pour next week.
