Hey guys who has what size Buddy Heater and how well do they work.

Trying decide what size to buy for 6x12 enclosed trailer. I’m going to insulate it so that will help. But I will be in the single digits.
So it’s going to be running allot my trip will be 7-9days. Trying not to freeze to death lol.

Buy the large one with twin tanks. It can be ran with just one side. Buy the adapter hose for each side and hook up to a 5 gal bbq tank.

I've had nothing but bad luck with buddy heaters and froze my ass off. I now run my predator 3500 all night and use a electric heater i bought off Amazon.

That setup worked well for KOH. I think it got down to 17 degrees

Running a generator all night is not an option while hunting.

I've used the small one, with the small disposable tanks .. works well but...gas doesn't last all night and I'm a bit apprehensive about sleeping with it burning anyways,

I use it to warm up the coach until bed time. We're usually outside by the campfire till late and the rig can stay fairly warm after that.

...Did the same but still uncomfortable .... just me.

Many years ago I knew a young guy who slept alone in a tent next to his parents tent.. during the night he got cold and brought in the habitchi.... Very sad outcome

I
know its totally different but still freaks me out

What are you using it in?

Use it to heat the back of the ToyHauler. It sits on a cart that can be wheeled around the trailer to keep different areas warmer as needed. Have it plumbed to trailers propane tanks. During KOH this year it was running on high each night to keep me from freezing. Did the job

I have the small one that looks like a lunch box. Small bottles burns about 8 hours on low. We have used it in a 7x16 cargo as well as tent camping.

mash on it

I use the Wave8 unit in a 34' 5th wheel trailer. 20 lb lasts about 5 days for me. Lows consistently mid teens to 20 this time of year.

We use the small one with our rooftop tent. It heats the vestibule and the tent up very well. We turn it off before we go to bed also, mostly because it heats up the tent quickly and it would be 85• in there if we didn't. Plus, we would be out of fuel in the morning. For a multi-day trip in freezing temps I would absolutely get the adapter for the 5-gal bottle.

Thanks this helps allot. I’m going to take 2 or 3 20lb tanks.

I have the middle size and it works fine. Propane causes condensation big time. I bought a Chink Diesel heater and it’s awesome!! Nice dry heat and it sits outside. Haven’t used the Mr Heater buddy since I got it.

Get electric blankets!

use a cot - lay a moving blanket or 2 below it as padding and get ready to sweat your ass off!

sleeping bag on top of Ele blanket!

at least use it to heat up the sleeping bag, then body heat will keep it warm!

We have a small diesel heater also. I forgot about that. It works GREAT! but we have to have a battery to hook it up to for the fan, but it has a thermostat and a remote, which the Little Buddy does not have.

The diesel ones are Chinese crap, but it totally works. Jeff had to mount it on a board and wrap the exhaust with tape due to the extreme heat coming off of it. Chinese Diesel Heater

I’m bringing a generator, but only using it incase of emergency.
The sound of a generator running all night don’t bring elk closer lol

This is what you really need.

Hell yes I do. I may do that in the future. But trying not to piss off the wife. I started out looking at $800-1000 tents. Now I have a enclosed trailer lol. That I still need to retrieve from Texas. So trying to be budget friendly for this years trip.
